Blog Candy Alert and a Valentine for Sophie

Yesterday, Dale and I got to enjoy our two sweet granddaughters, Julia and Sophie, while Mom and Dad were out on an early anniversary date.  After a tasty lunch, Sophie and I headed up to the studio to create a Valentine for Mom.  Of course, she wanted pink…her current favorite color, I think.  I gave her free reign in my scrap drawer, and she selected a plain paper and a patterned paper.  Then, on to the button jar and the ribbon rack.  With just a little help, we put together this quick and easy Valentine.

002 (2) 003 (2) Here’s a very happy Sophie, holding her masterpiece.  I love that smile!

If you want to know how to make this card, just contact me, and I’ll give you the deets.  But it is so simple to make, I’m pretty sure you can just look at the photo and figure it out. Remember, you can click on the photos to make them larger.

Valentine’s day Blog Candy Alert!!!

It suddenly occurred to me that Valentine’s Day will mark my one month Blog Anniversary.  So a little Blog Candy seems to be in order.  I’ve grouped together the following romantic items  for one lucky person who comments on this blog between now and Valentine’s Day.  I will do the drawing at noon EST  on February 14th, and will announce the winner in Friday’s blog post.  You may comment once a day, and I will give you one chance per comment.  You must be subscribed to this blog in order to win, and I’m very sorry, the contest is open only to US addresses, and no APO/FPO addresses.  So, here are the goodies in this little Valentine treat bag.

025 026

Two pads of wedding paper from Hot off the Press, both 8×8.  I adore this cardstock for it’s wonderful texture and great weight.  The papers are 38 sheets of coordinated papers with 200 alphabet tiles and 148 borders, tags and artwork in soft romantic colors.

Stickers:  Heartwarming Vintage Valentine Love stickers, Making Memories Vintage Stickers, Hot off the Press Floral Dazzles

Bits and Bobs: Heart Shaped Tart Tin, a small bag of buttons both vintage and new, a Jenni Bowlin vintage spool, 6 little packages of lace and ribbon, 3 card blanks and matching envelopes, a roll of Basic Grey paper tape,

and because it is Valentine’s Day, there has to be chocolate: a 3.5 ounce Ghiradelli milk chocolate bar with sea salt and almonds.  Yum!

That’s all for now.  Thanks for reading my little blog, and remember to comment to win this Valentine’s Day package of love, sweet love!

Absolutely, Marjie…I understand purge mode. It’s fun creating these simple little projects with Sophie. She’s a joy to work with. I think she has a very artistic nature.
