Happy Hump Day, Folks!
Today I’d like to share with you a trio of cards made with the Balmy Breeze paper collection from Heartfelt Creations. The first card features an image from their Melodious Songbird Pre-Cut Stamp Set as well as some handmade flowers using the Tattered Blossoms die and Pre Cut stamp set.
The sweet little bird image was stamped twice onto Balmy Breeze paper using Ranger Coffee Archival Ink and then colored with Distress Ink and gel pens. One image was fussy cut and popped up on foam dots. The other image was cut using a scalloped oval die. The flowers were stamped with Distress Ink in Tumbled Glass, Bundled Sage and Scattered Straw, then die cut using the Tattered Blossoms die. The petals were shaped with a stylus, then layered together. Rhinestones were used for flower centers.
The sweet little heart was made by cutting a heart shape from vintage music paper and coloring it with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink. I stamped the sentiment from the set and adhered it to the heart. The heart was then stamped liberally with Versamark, coated with Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel (UTEE) and heat set. The process was repeated until I achieved this glossy domed effect.
Balmy Breeze Card #2: Masculine Sailboat
I fell in love with this anchor paper and sailboat image. They are perfect for masculine cards, and it was fun to create the zigzag edge on this card by cutting along the diamond design n the paper. I then stitched around the perimeter, added a Decorative Lattice Swirl Die on the left and cut the sailboat image directly from the paper, mounting it on a slightly larger rectangle of kraft paper. The little bracket on the left was hand cut and also mounted on kraft paper. The fleur de lis and word stick were treated with Vintaj Patina paint. The sailboat and clouds were highlighted with Picket Fence Distress Stain. The sentiment on the word stick says, “Life is about creating yourself.”
The inner quote was chosen to go with the outside sentiment. It says, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.” Do you know who said that? Henry David Thoreau! It makes a great sentiment for a masculine graduation card, don’t you think?
Balmy Breeze Card #3: Seashells and Burlap!
To make this fun card, I used the beautiful seashell paper from the Balmy Breeze collection. I cut the second set of shells out and popped them up on foam tape to create dimension. Burlap was added to the top and the bottom. It makes me think of seaweed, which is a fun effect. The sentiment was stamped on a medallion taken from the cut apart page, and this was popped up on one of those beautiful Lattice Swirl die cuts.
