More Merry Christmas Cards

More Merry Christmas Cards with Polly’s Paper Studio Goodies

Hello, Friends!  How are you coming along with your Christmas card/gift list?  Little by little I’m getting it all done…or as done as it is going to be!  LOL  I have a couple more Merry Christmas Cards to share with you here today.  This time, I’ve used gorgeous vintage and retro tags from Polly’s Paper Studio.  You are going to love these sweet images.

Christmas Joy Hanger Card Look at the precious faces on this darling wood grain tag.  If that doesn’t make you feel like smiling, then you need a dose of christmas punch!   I downloaded the tag from Polly’s Paper Studio Etsy Shop and printed it onto matte photo paper.  It took hardly any time at all to layer it up with cute papers from MME Joyous Christmas, Black Plaid Ribbon from RRR, and Petaloo Burlap Poinsettias.

I designed this with a hanger so that I could dress up a bottle of holiday cheer.  It looks fabulous on a wine bottle, or even a bottle of really good olive oil.  As a bonus, you can hang it on a door knob or even on a Christmas tree.

Christmas Angel Gift Card Holder

Next I created a gift card holder using the Black Plaid Vintage Christmas Tags digital download. I fell in love with this sweet angel face.

A mini file folder is a great spot to tuck in festive Christmas goodies!

I added another tag from the download along with a little chocolate treat and a candy cane.  This is such a fun way to present a gift card, don’t you think?

I know you’re as busy as I am, so I won’t take up any more of your time.  I just thought I’d share in case your Christmas mojo needed a boost!

Snow Much Fun at the Petaloo Authentique Holiday Hop

Petaloo Authentique Holiday Hop with Prizes: Snow Much Fun!

Hello, Friends!  Did you know about the wonderful holiday blog hop with Petaloo and Authentique?  This is Day 4, and it’s my turn to share some great ideas for holiday gifts and cards.  This is going to be snow much fun!

Don’t you just love these patterned papers and images?  They are Authentique’s Classic Christmas collection and they are just my style!  In its former life, this little wooden sled was dark and dreary.  I gave it a vintage facelift with a coat of white gesso followed by DecoArt Crackle Texture Paste.  To add shimmer, I dusted on some Perfect Pearl Medium.I wanted the crackle texture to really show, so I also dusted on some Heirloom Gold.  I had snow much fun making this sled holiday ready!

dashing-through-the-snow-altered-sled-by-kathy-clement-for-petaloo-authentique-blog-hop-photo-1I love the Petaloo holiday flowers for the beautiful color and texture they add to this pretty little sled.  In case you’re wondering, the sled measures 17″ tall x 7″ wide. Perfect for a holiday mantel or under the tree!  Here are some detail photos for you:

Green and White Holiday Wreath

joyful-christmas-wreath-by-kathy-clement-for-petaloo-authentique-blog-hop-photo-1

Because I was having snow much fun, and since my work space was already strewn with all kinds of Christmas goodness, I decided to go ahead and make this little holiday wreath.  The base is Styrofoam by Floracraft.  I wrapped the base with wired burlap ribbon and some fancy trim.  It was easy as pie!  These regal white velvet poinsettia are so elegant when paired up with Ivory Silky Crush Ribbon.  I backed the wreath with a sentiment from Classic Christmas, then added a wee Santa and tree.  You could make one of these in a jiffy, my friends!  Wouldn’t it be a great hostess gift for the holidays?

Christmas: It’s All About the Cards!

You honestly didn’t think I could finish up this play session without making a card, did you?  This image from Classic Christmas caught my eye right away.  I dressed this little Christmas Belle up with some UTEE and glitter, then surrounded her with twinkling star sequins, sugared berries, a golden deer, Antique Gold Ribbon and a gorgeous Petaloo posy.

woodland-christmas-card-by-kathy-clement-for-petaloo-authentique-blog-hop-photo-3I love the way the music paper on the back side of the image sort of bled through during the UTEE treatment.  My custom flower is made by stacking an Ivory Canvas Briar Rose atop one of those pretty white poinsettia.

woodland-christmas-card-by-kathy-clement-for-petaloo-authentique-blog-hop-photo-2Inside, I’ve added a gift card envelope that slips neatly behind the belly band on the left.

You’ll want to be sure to pop over to the Petaloo  and Authentique Blogs to leave comments because there’s a wonderful prize package connected to this hop!  I just know you’ll have snow much fun with these goodies if you win.

Thanks for stopping by!  I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Lollipop Tag Basket with Graphic 45 St Nicholas

all-i-want-for-christmas-lollipop-basket-saint-nicholas-by-kathy-clement-product-by-graphic-45-photo-1All I Want for Christmas is a Lollipop Tag Basket

Hello, G 45’ers!

What do you want for Christmas?  All I Want for Christmas is….a Lollipop Tag Basket made with Graphic 45 St. Nicholas paper.  What?  Settle in, and I’ll tell you a Christmas story…

Lollypops for Christmas

Children make everything about Christmas more fun and more memorable.  I think each family develops their own unique traditions that make the holiday uniquely their own. I always try to keep lollipops on hand at Christmas time.  Here’s why.

When our first grandchild Sophie was two, she took her first trip to visit Santa.  When I saw her the next day and asked her what she liked the best, she said without hesitation, “The wobbyhop.”  I gave her mama a questioning look and she said, “Santa gave Sophie a lollipop.”  Aaaah!  And we all thought it was so cute, that we didn’t try to change the pronunciation.

Hoping to get the inside line on what items she had on her wish list, my  next question to Sophie was, “So what did you tell Santa you wanted for Christmas?”

Without blinking an eye, she turned a sweet smile on me and said, “Wobbyhops!” I think every aunt, uncle, and grandparent bought her lollipops that year!

And that is the story behind  this sweet lollipop tag basket made with the wonderful Saint Nicholas collection.

From Farmer’s Market to Holiday Table

all-i-want-for-christmas-lollipop-basket-saint-nicholas-by-kathy-clement-product-by-graphic-45-photo-6This basket started its life as an ordinary green fiberboard berry basket that I purchased filled with luscious berries at our local Farmer’s Market.  Being the packrat….er…. resourceful person that I am, it was neatly set aside in the Closet of Shame for future consideration.  When the idea for this lollipop tag basket was born, it was transformed with some white acrylic paint.  Which really did make it look better.  But it needed a little “something something” to make it holiday worthy.  Glimmer mist to the rescue!  I sprayed it liberally with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer mist, heat drying it as I worked.  I didn’t want to let the Glimmer Mist penetrate the fibers for fear that they would crumble.  The cool thing is, it ended up looking almost like ceramic and feeling super sturdy.

A Tisket, A Tasket, Lollipop Tags in a Basket

all-i-want-for-christmas-lollipop-basket-saint-nicholas-by-kathy-clement-product-by-graphic-45-photo-5These tags are another quick and easy make.  They are all cut from the 12×12 pages of St. Nicholas.  I matted them on black cardstock to make a sturdy base that would stand up in the basket.   As a bonus, you can now write a note or mount a picture on the back of the tag!  How cool is that? Then I just added some ribbon, a lollipop, Petaloo posies and a little punch out tag.  Easy peasy!

St. Nicholas Gift Box, Shaker Card & Ornament

Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts: St. Nicholas Gift Box, Shaker Card & Ornament

Hello, Friends!  It’s time for another Snapguide tutorial for Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.  This time I’m sharing a great way to usethe new Double Sided Ornament from Gypsy Soul Laser Cuts.  I love to make cards that are a gift all by themselves.  Today I’ll share a Snapguide with you showing you how to create this lovely  boxed gift set.

Here is the box.  I used a blank kraft card box that I had in my stash and decorated it
with Saint Nicholas papers, Petaloo flowers and gorgeous GSL snowflakes.

This pretty card is inside the box…..

….along with a little keepsake ornament.  Instead of making a double sided ornament, I used one half on my card front as a shaker element.  It’s twice the fun!

Here’s a closer look at some of the details.

Distress Grit paste makes wonderful “snow” especially when you sprinkle it with glitter!

And here’s a Snapguide Tutorial that so you can see all the steps that went into making this ensemble.

Check out How to Make St. Nicholas Card & Matching Ornament for GSL by Kathy Clement on Snapguide.

I think this would make a great holiday hostess gift, a wonderful teacher appreciation gift, or Secret Santa gift.  You could also display the set on your holiday mantel or side table.  I hope you’ll give it a try!

RRR Country Holiday Ribbons for Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet Christmas Stocking Banner

RRR Blog Hop Badge

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Welcome to the RRR November Blog Hop.  You should be coming here from Karen’s lovely blog.  Tis the Season to Deck the Halls and have a Holly Jolly Christmas!  I’m getting my Christmas spirit going with this super cute Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet Christmas Stocking Banner made with the Country Holiday Ribbon Club Collection.  These ribbons are soooo pretty!

country-holiday-collectionNutcracker Sweet Christmas Stocking Banner

christmas-stocking-banner-nutcracker-sweet-by-kathy-clement-for-rrr-product-by-graphic-45-photo-1Once again, I’ve used pretty ribbons from the Really Reasonable Ribbon Country Holiday Ribbon Club assortment.  Aren’t they a great playmate for these Nutcracker Sweet papers?

christmas-stocking-banner-nutcracker-sweet-by-kathy-clement-for-rrr-product-by-graphic-45-photo-3I used a Stampin’ Up Steel Rule Die to cut out the stocking pieces.  After paper piecing the stocking parts together, I stitched them onto kraft cardstock, forming a pocket.

christmas-stocking-banner-nutcracker-sweet-by-kathy-clement-for-rrr-product-by-graphic-45-photo-7You can place a gift card or cash gift in the little pocket.   I’ve tucked mini candy canes inside just for fun.

christmas-stocking-banner-nutcracker-sweet-by-kathy-clement-for-rrr-product-by-graphic-45-photo-5The stockings are clipped onto 1.5″ Antique Gold Gingham Ribbon with cute little mini clothespins.  Just unclip them for gifting, and you’re all set.

I think this Christmas Stocking Banner is fun and festive, and I hope you’ll give it a try!

Now go see what paper pretties Cherry has prepared for you.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete hop list on the  RRR Blog.  Be sure to comment on each blog, then answer Bonnie’s question of the month so your name can be entered into the drawing for a free November Country Holiday Ribbon Club Collection.

Silver and Gold Holiday Frame

RRRChallengeBadgeSilver and Gold Holiday Frame for Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge

Hello, Friends!

If you’re like me, you are getting serious about holiday preparations.  The current challenge at Really Reasonable Ribbon is to create a project that uses silver and gold with ribbon or trim.  How festive is that?  So I put on my thinking cap for a little while and came up with this Christmassy Silver and Gold Holiday frame made with this month’s Ribbon Club Assortment.

Kathy by Design Altered Holiday FrameOoooh…sparkly!  I picked up this frame at a yard sale this summer, removed the glass, and treated it to some gold paint for a total transformation.  How fun will this be on a holiday mantel or side table?

RRR Silver and Gold Challenge 02The November Ribbon Club has the most luxurious holiday ribbons!  I used my Zutter Bow-it-All Tool to tie teeny tiny bows from Crosshatch on Old Gold Satin Ribbon,  darling Christmas Ornaments on White Satin Ribbon, and then topped my mini ornaments with them. I suspended the ornaments from the frame using elegant Silver Metallic String.A sheet of DCWV cardstock that I found in my stash sits at the back of the frame.

RRR Silver and Gold Challenge 03The top of the frame is maybe my favorite part.  This Shell Grey Shimmer Satin Ribbon is perfect for the holidays.  I tied a super colossal bow on my Zutter Bow-it-All, then topped it with a loopy bow made from more of that darling ornament ribbon.  The  icing on the cake is this trio of creamy white magnolia blossoms.  Soooo scrumptious!

If you love ribbon the way I love ribbon, now is a great time to join the Monthly Ribbon Club.  Bonnie has a super DEAL  going on, so you might want to check that out.  You could always ask Santa to put a gift subscription to the Ribbon Club under the tree for you this year since you’ve been so very good!

Be sure to check out the RRR BLOG where you’ll find loads of inspiration from the rest of the team.  You can link up your own Silver and Gold project with ribbon or trim, and we’ll be stopping by to take a peek at your lovely handiwork.

I’m linking this project to the “It’s Ornamental Challenge” over at the Anything But Cute Challenge Blog.
