Prima Georgia Blues Teacup for Throwback Thursday

Hello, Friends!  Care to join me for a Prima Georgia Blues Teacup on this Throwback Thursday?  Then pull up a chair, grab a cuppa and let’s chat!

This week, I’ve dusted off two of my favorites for Throwback Thursday.  You all know how much I love Prima Georgia Blues as I’ve shared loads of projects made with it. Eileen Hull’s Sizzix Teacup Die is another of my absolute favorites.  So I thought to myself, why not let these two join us for a Throwback Thursday tea party?

Many of you have been very sad that this teacup die is sold out and retired.  But a little birdie whispered in my ear that Eileen will be releasing a brand new teacup die this summer.  So keep an eye out for the big announcement!

As always, die cut the teacup parts from Sizzix white chipboard.  Then die cut your designer paper to cover the panels.  It’s such a quick and easy project to make, but such an elegantl way to present a little gift.

Filled to the Brim with Love

Filling these teacups is so much fun!  I’ve wrapped my treats in Georgia Blues designer papers.  To create this tea party in a cup add Biscoff cookies, a honey stick, a vintage demitasse spoon, chocolate, and a tea bag.  Create a mini note card by folding a 3″ x 4″ journal card in half.

This project is a great way to use up your scraps from a favorite collection.  And then you have a unique and thoughtful gift to present to someone special.  That’s a win/win in my book!

I hope I’ve inspired you to dig into your Closet of Shame and dust off some old favorites.  Make something beautiful today, and the world will seem just a little bit brighter!

Thanks for stopping by!

Blue Roses and Butterflies

Prima Georgia Blues with Renealbouquets Beautiful Board Card Kathy Clement Kathy by Design Photo 01

Blue Roses and Butterflies

Hello, Friends!  When you love blue the way I do, you make a pretty card with blue roses and butterflies.  I’ve never seen a blue rose, but just look at all the dreamy blues in this Prima Georgia Blues card.

This 6″ x 6″ layered card called for a beautiful blue bow.  Light Navy Taffeta from Really Reasonable Ribbon makes a crisp triple loop bow.  I’ve topped this with a Gold Metallic String loopy bow and a big ole blue rose.  Everything about this card makes me want to go sip a tall glass of sweet tea on the veranda.

Blue Roses and Butterflies: How I Made It

Here’s how this card came together:

  • First, create a 6×6 card base from navy cardstock.
  • Cut a 5 3/4″ square of patterned paper from the Georgia Blues collection.
  • Mat on a slightly larger panel of soft blue cardstock.
  • Now cut a 4″ x 4″ panel of designer paper and double mat on soft blue and navy cardstock. Back with dimensionals.  Center and adhere.
  • Die cut Spellbinders APG Elegant Infinity from patterned paper.  Place dimensionals in the center and sides.  They will show, but we will cover them up with design elements. Center and adhere.
  • Select ephemera bits from the paper collection and arrange to cover the dimensionals behind the die cut.
  • Add some Reneabouquets butterflies and vintage blue buttons to complete the design.
Blue Roses and Butterflies:  A Peek Inside

Cover the inside of the card with more of the pretty papers.  Add pockets.

Tuck in a pretty journal card and a color matched tea bag to turn the card into a gift.

I hope I’ve shared some tips and inspiration that you can use in your next crafty adventure.  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Wishing you blue skies and sunshine!

Cheerio,

kathy
