Celebrate Life Tall and Skinny Card Tutorial

Little Birdie Crafts Celebrate Life Tall and Skinny Card Tutorial

Little Birdie Crafts Celebrate Life Tall and Skinny Card Tutorial AND a Giveaway!

Hello, Friends!  Today I’m guest designing for Little Birdie Crafts with this “Celebrate Life” Tall and Skinny Card Tutorial.   Tall and Skinny cards are trendy right now, and for good reason: they are fun to make, give you lots of room to add embellishments, and they are a nice change of pace from the standard square or rectangular card.

This one measures 8 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ with a 3/4″ spine.  I needed to add that chunky spine to accommodate the box pocket inside!

In the video tutorial, I’ll show you how to create the card base using a single sheet of designer paper from the “Celebrate Life” collection.  I’ll also share  how to repair a BIG MISTAKE (which I made!) with a simple fix.

We’ll put the front of the card together piece by piece to  make it easy for you to reproduce the finished project.

Celebrate Life Tall and Skinny Card Tutorial: A Peek Inside

Would you like to learn how to make this fun box style pocket?  It’s easier than you might think, and I’ll show you how in the video below.

Once you’ve made the box pocket, you can fill it up with lovely treats.  I like to call this type of card “a party in a box.”  They make great gifts!

This is so sweet, Kathy. Like the pastel colors of these papers. The variety of designs (especially the pop-out circles) make this Little Birdie paper pack an easy way to create cards. As always, I appreciate your video tutorial. tfs-Hugs.
PS. Noticed the question above…I’m thinking of making this card design in a size that fits a small flat rate postal box for mailing to prevent any smashing. Any other ideas are appreciated.

So pretty! Little Birdie has so many cute things. I would buy the chalk paints and the By the sea paper. If I was rich Id buy all the papers. They are just gorgeous! I also have a question. When you make the big cards or the 5×7 folios, do you make an envelope or do you just hand it to people?

This card is just gorgeous! I would by all of the products used on it and other collections as well. I’ve got some that I purchased last fall that have pumpkins, which I just love.

Kathy, this is gorgeous! I see me attempting this over the weekend. One question……is there an envelope that fits this size or do we make our own?
