Chalkboard Winter Wonderland for Heartfelt Creations Wednesday
Good Wednesday morning, Friends! I’m happy to welcome you to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday once again. Today I have a really fun Chalkboard Winter Wonderland card to share with you. I’m going back to an “oldie but a goodie” set this week. The stamped images and papers are from the delightful Gateway to the Seasons stamp collection. I’ve chosen to work with the very detailed Winter Season PreCut set . This card is so quick and easy to make, yet provides a huge visual impact. It would be a great design to use for making multiple cards for Christmas. A complete supply list and detailed instructions can be found today on the Heartfelt Creations blog. You will also have the opportunity to see work from the new members of our design team. I’ve had a little sneak peek of their creations, and I assure you, there are some absolutely stunning creations in store for you. So pop over to the blog, say hello to the new designers, welcome back to the returning designers and get your weekly dose of crafting inspiration!
I get the best results for chalkboard technique when I use a pigmented white ink to stamp and then heat emboss with a super fine white embossing powder. I always tap my embossing buddy over the paper first to reduce the chance of stray embossing crystals ending up where I don’t want them.
Once I’m done stamping, I lightly dab a little of the white ink onto the pad of my finger and just sort of dab it around to create that “erased” chalkboard look. For this image, it also added to the snowy fields.
Have you played much with the chalkboard technique? What discoveries have you made along the way? I’d love it if you shared them with me here. Thanks for stopping by today, and thanks again for all your kind comments! They make me happy, right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers. Until next time,

Stamp the sentiment onto black cardstock and emboss as you did above. Die cut from cardstock using the smallest label found in the Labels 1 collection. Mat onto gold glitter cardstock and trim around the edges. Secure to the left hand side of the card base using foam tape.
