Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge 5: Pick a Stamp, Any Stamp!
Welcome to another support group meeting for Craft Hoarders Anonymous! Challenge #5 invites us to dig into our hoard of stamps, and “Pick a Stamp, Any Stamp” as the feature for our projects. Here’s the official lowdown:
You don’t have to be a card maker to hoard stamps! With the popularity of pocket-style scrapbooking and the explosion of journaling stamps on the market, many scrapbookers have also become stamp hoarders. Plus, digital stamps are more popular than ever. I am sure that most of us have at least one stamp in our stash! You may “collect” wood mounted stamps, clear stamps, cling rubber, or even digital! Get one out, dust it off, and make it the STAR of your project! We want to see a stamp (sentiment, word art, image, etc.) as the focal point of your project! Feel free to use more than one stamp, but you must have AT LEAST ONE stamped item on your project.
Our sponsor this month is the one and only Hampton Art.
Hampton Art, founded in 1980 in picturesque Long Island, NY, has been inspiring stampers, crafters and papercraft enthusiasts for over 20 years. One of the earliest “art stamp” companies, Hampton has transformed over the years to become a complete provider of creative products such as stamps, inks, papers, kids crafts, stationery, scrapbooking supplies, and card making accessories for crafters of every age and skill level. We focus on working together with other companies through strong, personal relationships and licensing partnerships to consistently bring fun, inspiring products to market. We have a portfolio of brands including Hampton Art™, Studio G™, Diffusion, Ditto™, and our latest addition, Ki Memories®, acquired in 2012. Our products can be found via most national craft retailers at over 5000 stores across the US and Canada. We also ship to 20 different countries across the globe. Hampton was acquired by National Spinning Co, Inc. of Washington, NC, our current home, in 2008. For more information, visit our website.
Hampton Art not only provided a generous prize for this month, they also sponsored all the members of the design team as well. So thank you, Hampton Art! Want to see what is up for grabs? Of course you do!
NOTE: Tote does NOT include all these goodies…it comes empty, so you can fill it with stuff from your own personal hoard! Because this is such a large prize, it is the ONLY prize for the month of April.
Where There is Tea, There is Love
Those of you who know me well are aware of my love of a good cup of tea, or cuppa as I call it. So when Hampton Art teamed up with Graphic 45 to create the amazing Botanical Tea and coordinating stamps, I was all over it like white on rice! Here’s the card I made using the amazing Botanical Tea stamp set from Hampton Art.
I started with a 5″ x 7″ side fold kraft card base and layered on papers from the 6″ x 6″ Botanical tea patterns. A belly band was created with luxurious Silky Crush Rose Ribbon and ivory crochet lace. I stamped the teapot and sentiment onto watercolor paper using Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink. I used a non-wrinkle distress technique to add Tattered Rose and Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the stamped image then die cut with Spellbinder’s Opulent Ovals. I used a Fiskars punch to create the lace borders, inked the edges and then stamped the tea pot border. The whole card really came together when I custom colored and distressed Ivory Wrinkled Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon and a tiny sweetheart blossom. I even custom colored a real life honest to goodness tea tag salvaged from my morning cuppa. And yes…. I hoard these, too. I’m hopeless!
Here are some more photos. You can click on them to see more detail:
And the inside of the card has a nice little surprise:
These stamps are also from Hampton Art Botanical Tea.
And I created a matching envelope.
Here are the links to the rest of the design team’s amazing stamped projects. I’ve seen them all, and you will be so inspired by the time you get to the end!
This challenge runs until 11:59PM Pacific Time on Sunday, April 20th. So rummage through your hoarded stamps, pick one that speaks to you and create a NEW project and link it up the the Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog Challenge #5. I’ll be popping in to take a look and leave you some love. I can’t wait to see what you create this time! This whole process of digging into my hoard makes me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers!
