Crafty Secrets Party Cats for Sophie’s Birthday

CS Party Cats 05Crafty Secrets Party Cats for Sophie’s Birthday

Good Monday morning, my friends!  Hope you all enjoyed a wonderful weekend!  It was a special one here, as we celebrated our precious Sophie Grace’s 5th birthday.  It’s hard to believe that 5 whole years have gone by since the day of her arrival.  Here’s a picture of her then:

Sophies birth day 012And here is our darling girl now:

Sophie Easter 2014She has grown into the sweetest, most thoughtful, loving little girl ever. She also has a wonderful sense of humor and tells a mean knock-knock joke!  And of course, I am totally unbiased!  She’s a wonderful big sis to Julia.

And all she wanted for her 5th birthday was a kitty.  Meet Mittens…Sophie’s Birthday kitty.

Sophie MittensSo naturally, Nan (that’s what she calls me…or Nanny, or Nanny-O) had to make a kitten themed card for Sophie’s birthday.  I used the adorable Crafty Secrets Party Cats digital files to make a 6″ easel card.  I have always loved these images, but before they were really tiny and hard for me to color.  Now that I can re-size them ,they are even better!  Here’s a peeky at the card:

CS Party Cats 04I just think these kitties and mice are delightful.  Did you notice the “maestro” conducting the birthday chorus?  Isn’t he a hoot?  And, I love the dancing kitties…and the kitties suspended from balloons, too.  This digital set has 32 designs…and each is totally adorable.

After re-sizing my images, I inserted the the cats and the piano into a text box in Word.  I printed this twice onto smooth white cardstock. I colored the background on one, and just the kitties on another.  After the kitties were colored, I fussy cut them and popped them up on foam dimensionals and matted them with teal and red cardstock.  The other images were also colored, fussy cut and popped up on foam tape. The balloons were treated with Glossy Accents and a touch of Diamond Stickles was strategically placed.  I stamped randomly with the music staff clear acrylic stamp from Artsy Banners which is retired, but still available in digital format.  The sentiment is taken from Cutie Cats.

My papers are the Printable Red Teal/Floral Dot Double Sided papers that you can download for just 99 cents.  Here’s a look at the inside of my Crafty Secrets Party Cats card:

CS Party Cats 06The glittery number 5 is from the digital Sexy Number stamp set.  I used my Paint Shop Pro to color it in.  The more I play with digital, the more comfortable I become with it!

So, that’s it for me on this Monday morning. Thanks for stopping by and celebrating Sophie’s birthday with me.  Being a grandmother makes me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers.

Cheerio,

kathy

Hi Nanny Kathy, your niece Sophie is adorable as well as the fun Party Cat card you made for her birthday! I agree that this set is much better as a digital download as we crammed so many images on the original Clear Set they were very small to color. Great job!
