Crafty Secrets Spring Card

Good Morning, my friends!  I’m popping in today with a card that is designed to give you hope that Spring is on its way!  My Crafty Secrets Spring card features an image from theSeasonal Image Booklet and Journal Notes and beautiful Earthy Floral  digital papers.

These Earthy Floral papers caught my eye right away when I went looking for something to use in a Spring themed card.  The beautiful peach and green color palette just sings “Spring is on the way!”

I began by creating a 5″ x7″ card base from white cardstock.  I covered the front with a glittery peach cardstock and then cut the vibrant Earthy Floral into a graceful shape with the help of a template.  I die cut the two white pieces because I knew I was going to want to use them as well.  The dies are from Heartfelt Creations.

I chose my image from the booklet, trimmed it and then treated it with , you guessed it, UTEE!  I matted it with a piece of green cardstock and then layered up my images.  I had a bunch of these pretty flowers in cream, peach and green so added them over, under and around my focal image.  The little “Spring” banner was on the bottom of the page with this joyful child and bunny.  I just trimmed it out, inked it and shaped it between my fingers to add at the bottom .

The bow is made with ivory seam binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon.  I custom dyed it with my Distress Inks.  If you’ve never done this, let me know, and I’ll do a tutorial on it here so that you can custom match your ribbon to your projects, too.  I pleated the ribbon against a piece of double stick tape that I ran down the left hand side of the card.  I love the texture this adds!  Then, I just added a few stick pins for the fun of it!

The inside of the card uses the green portion of the Earthy Floral papers.  I trimmed out the journal note from the Seasonal booklet and hand wrote my greeting.  Easy, Peasy!

I know this has been a long winter for everyone, but next week will find us in the month of March, and can Spring be far behind?  Time to get our Easter cards made!  Be sure to visit the Crafty Secrets online store where you will find the products I used in today’s card as well as loads of beautiful new Spring papers, stamps, printables and goodies from Sandy!  We’ll be having our March Linky Party on the 3rd…and the theme will be “Think Spring!”  I hope you’ll join us to see what the design team has cooked up with these fun new images and printables.

Let me know if you’d like a tutorial on how to make that custom ribbon…or if I can help you with anything else.  I love hearing from you!  It makes me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers.

Your card is Stunning. When I clicked on the 2nd picture I thought that looked like glittered CS. Very pretty
Your card says Spring and the image is soooooooo cute.
Like the touch of the dyed ribbon and the little stick pins that you added.
Lots of very special details you added both inside and out.
Enjoy your evening; what’s left of it anyway.
I’m off to watch the nascar races at Daytona. After a 6 hour delay they finally where able to start up again.
