Dance (Heartfelt Creations Wednesday)

Welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!  As I was loading up this project, I realized that this is my 100th blog post…so I’m very happy that the subject is dear to my heart.  For today’s post, I did something I rarely do; a created a scrapbook layout featuring my precious granddaughter, Sophie at her first dance recital.

Heartfelt Creations July 13 2013 08  Sophie Grace was almost 4 years old when her mommy took this sweet photo of her just before her first dance recital.  Can I just tell you, I love this little gal to bits and pieces?  She is a very thoughtful and sensitive child…and she also has a great sense of humor.  She loves working in the studio with her “Nan” as she calls me.  And I love it, too!

Heartfelt Creations July 13 2013 05 I truly love the Sun Kissed Fleur Die!  Handmaking all those flowers went so quickly because I was able to die cut 10 flowers at one time.  And the Decorative Lattice Swirl Die made a great frame for the focal image.  All the details and directions can be found on the Heartfelt Creations blog along with loads of beautiful projects from the other HC designers.  You can find links to their blogs in the sidebar.

A couple of fun details to point out:

Heartfelt Creations July 13 2013 07 Heartfelt Creations July 13 2013 06Here, I used my craft knife to cut open the garden gate for a hidden journaling spot.

Heartfelt Creations July 13 2013 03 Here, I fussy cut one of the sweet journal cards from the Daphne paper collection to create the title for the page. I backed it with some pleated tulle. The little ballet shoes are treated to some glittery embossing powder.

Heartfelt Creations July 13 2013 02  And what good is a ballerina without some tulle and a crown?

Thanks for joining me today for my 100th blog post.  I am having such a good time sharing my ideas and projects with you, and you encourage me more than you know with your kind comments. They make me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers.  Until next time,

Cheerio,

kathy

Happy 100th blog post, and what a choice piece you posted about on such a momentous occasion! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, BEYOND LOVE this piece. The photo of Sophie captures how precious she is, and the detail you put into this page with all the flowers, beautiful lattice, tulle, ballet shoes, crown and journalling takes this to a whole new level. I can’t think of words to compliment it adequately. BEAUTIFUL!!

OMG Kathy this is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, as is Sophie! All the ‘pinkness’ is perfect to tie in with Miss Sophie’s tutu. GORGEOUS flowers and LOVE how you did the journaling … fantastic! There is so many beautiful elements on this layout page … awesome job my friend! Something you (and Sophie) will cherish for years.
My mom has photos of my sister & I from our recitals (we started dancing when I was 3 and she was 4) but they certainly aren’t showcased as beautifully as this recital photo is! Again … BEAUTIFUL!
    Have a fabulous day!

Your scrapbooking abilities just blow me away. I love scrapbooking, just not very good at it. It just takes too long for me to finish a page! I’m definitely slowing down! Oh and by the way….this child is just precious!
