Enjoy the Journey Card

613 Ave 02Enjoy the Journey Card for 613 Avenue Create

Hello, Friends!

I’m just popping in very quickly to share a quick and easy “Enjoy the Journey” card that I made for the new weekly challenge at 613 Avenue Create.  The theme for challenge #88 is Anything Goes with Create Your Own Color Challenge.  You can read all the rules on their blog.  Here’s the grid for the color challenge.

https://i1.wp.com/2.bp.blogspot.com/-LxcQi5yu6DU/U_lwy44MC8I/AAAAAAAAIxo/zBzfTaM2lzY/s400/DSCN3216.JPG?w=625

I opted to create with teal, brown and cream.  I had one card in mind, but when I went through my stamps, I found two Tim Holtz stamps that were just begging to come out and play.  I used images from “The Journey” and “Playful Journey” to make my card along with brown distress inks, Antique Linen Distress Ink and Peacock Feathers Distress Ink.  I added clear embossing, too.

613 Ave 01I used teal cardstock to create a 5″ x7″ card base with a torn edge.  Tim’s Kraft Resist paper was used on the bottom layer, and after inking it with Peacock Feathers, I stitched around the edges and added it to the card.  The gorgeous Variegated Copper Ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon is run through a copper ribbon slide and secured to the back of the card panel before gluing the panel down to the card base.

The three cars were stamped onto white cardstock, heat embossed with clear powder, inked with Antique Linen, Peacock Feathers and Vintage Photo. I also spritzed and splatted them with Tattered Angels Patina Glimmer mist.  Then, they were randomly stamped with other images from the stamp set.  I used a ruler to tear the images out, matted them on brown sugar and teal cardstock and stitched around the edges.  Copper photo corners were added before gluing down.

The sentiment was stamped on the same white cardstock, inked, matted and glued down.  I like all the texture the stitching adds to this card.

The inside is simple, and carries over the theme from the front of the card.

613 Ave 04And that’s it for me today, friends!  I hope you “enjoy the journey” whatever journey you are on! See you over at 613 Avenue Create!

Cheerio,

kathy

Hi, Kathy! Thanks so much for the shout out! We appreciate it! This design is so graphically perfect, it is difficult to know where to start. Color integration is on point, your design point of view as clear as a piece of Waterford Crystal. Wonderful composition and construction. Thanks for accepting the challenge this week. We were delighted to find this propped against our front door here at 613 Avenue Create!
