Everyday Moments Card for Heartfelt Creations Wednesday

Everyday Moments HC 10

Everyday Moments for Heartfelt Creations Wednesday

Good morning, Friends!  Several years ago, I found a beautiful poem that really spoke to something deep inside me and I’d like to share it with you here today.

Ordinary day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.
Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart.
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.
Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so.
One day I shall dig my nails into the earth
or bury my face in the pillow,
or stretch myself taut,
or raise my hands to the sky
and want more than all the world to return to you,
normal day.

Everyday Moments HC 01

When Heartfelt Creations released the inspiring Once Upon a Time Collection I knew I wanted to pay homage to the everyday moments of life that we too often take for granted.  So I created this Everyday Moments card for Heartfelt Creations Wednesday.  It is rich with gold embossing, luxurious copper ribbon, glitter and a tiny watch face that I found at a yard sale.  You will find a complete list of supplies and detailed directions below.  And don’t forget to pay a visit to the Heartfelt Creations blog where you will find dozens of inspiring projects from the rest of the design team.

Directions for making this Heartfelt Creations Everyday Moments Card
Heartfelt Creations Products and products carried by HC:  Stamps:  Timeless Clock Set, HCPC 3590 Embrace Time Background PreCut Set; Paper: HCDP1 241 Once Upon A Time Collection; Dies:  HCD 744 Once Upon A Time Die; Other:  452255 Grand Calibur, DDots Double Dots Foam Adhesive, and SMP001 Stamp Mat Pad
Other Products: Paper: Sage Green Cardstock, dusty rose cardstock, watercolor paper; Inks: Coffee Archival Ink, Tea Stain Distress Ink. Versamark Embossing Ink, Versamark Embossing Pen, Gold Embossing Powder; Paint: Broken China, Peeled Paint Distress Ink; Markers: Tattered Rose, Tea Stain, Peeled Paint Distress Markers; Ribbon: Really Reasonable Ribbon Variegated Copper Ribbon; Other: Diamond Stickles, Adhesive Pearls, Pocket Watch Frame, craft knife, paper clock hand, water brush, Glossy Accents
Direction:  Select a 6” x 6” framed card front.  Use the craft knife and ruler to cut apart the three frames.  Distress the edges.  Ink with Tea Stain Distress Ink.  For the frame that has the decorative corners, trace the corners with Versamark embossing pen.  Emboss with Gold Embossing powder.  For the inner panel, stamp a portion of the Embrace Time background stamp onto the black area using Tea Dye Distress Ink, stamping off onto scratch paper before you stamp onto the card surface.
Create a 6 ¼” x 6 ¼” card base from sage green cardstock. Glue the outer frame directly onto the card base.  Use one layer of foam dots to secure the inner frame and two layers of foam dots to secure the sentiment panel.   Heat emboss the blank pocket watch frame with Gold Embossing powder and lay over the clock face in the lower left hand side of the sentiment panel.  Tap lightly with Broken China and Peeled Paint Distress Ink to give it the look of a patina surface.  Add the inner workings of a broken wrist watch to the center, if desired.  Fill the center of the pocket watch with Glossy Accents and set aside.
Using the stamp mat, ink the Timeless Clock PreCut set with Coffee Archival Ink and stamp onto the textured side of watercolor paper.  Use a water brush to color in the clock faces with Tea Stain, Peeled Paint and Tattered Rose Distress Markers.   Die cut with the Once Upon A time die.  Use these clock faces to decorate the card front.  Cut the “everyday moments” banner from the paper collection, and cut a fishtail on one end.  .  Mat onto pink cardstock. Ink the edges with Tea Stain DI.  Curl lightly between your fingers and use foam dots to mount onto the card front.  Add pearls to the corners.  Tie the bow and add to the card.

This card is so beautiful with all the layers and colours. The poem is so touching you can hear it saying grab the day. I always remember the saying The morning never knows what the day will bring, so very true x

Hi Kathy. This card is amazing! There are so many beautiful layers of papers, colors and patterns. I love all of the clocks that you’ve used here. They are perfect for that GORGEOUS poem that inspired you to create this card. I am going to keep that poem … it also really speaks to me and I see a future mixed media project coming out of that. 🙂 Your bows are always so perfect! I love the ribbon you’ve used on this card…it coordinates perfectly! <3 Candy
