Fall Asters Cards

Heartfelt Creations September 2013 17 Fall Asters Cards

Good Wednesday morning, friends.  Here in North Carolina, we are enjoying glorious fall weather.  It’s so refreshing after the humidity and heat of the summer to wake up to mornings that are brisk and cool.  I’m popping in today with another Heartfelt Creations project.  This Fall Asters card features one of my favorite flower sets: Delicate Asters.

I don’t know why this time of year always makes me feel nostalgic, but I find myself remembering events and sights from my childhood.  I was thinking about my mother’s beautiful flower gardens.  She never had a lot of money to spend on her gardens, but she made up for that by lavishing her flower beds with loving care.  When her old wringer washer finally gave up the ghost, my dad saved the washtub, painted it white and grey, and Mom turned it into a planter that she filled with beautiful fall asters.  Making this card reminded me of them.

Heartfelt Creations September 2013 16  I just love fall colors, don’t you?

Here’s a peek at the inside of the card: Heartfelt Creations September 2013 19

While I had the set out, I decided to make another quick card, this time using the stamps in the background:

Heartfelt Creations September 2013 01  I don’t often make these long, skinny cards, but thought it would be fun to mix it up a little.  Here’s a close-up of the central image:

Heartfelt Creations September 2013 03 Making these leaves really got me into an autumn frame of mind.  Fall is such a festive time of year.  It’s like Mother Nature is throwing a party, and this is how she decorates.  Don’t you just love it?

I know what you mean about those memories flooding in this time of year … as you have said before, ‘we must be cut from the same cloth’ … it’s been a very nostalgic time for me as well!
