February Blog Hop with Really Reasonable Ribbon

RRR Blog Hop 08

Welcome all you fabulous ribbon lovers!  It’s time for the February Blog Hop with Really Reasonable Ribbon. If you came here from the RRR blog then you are right on track!

This month, we are featuring ribbons found in the  February Ribbon Club Assortment.  Take a peek at these beautiful ribbons:

Brown and blue is one of my favorite color combinations.  It makes me think of earth and sky.  I wanted my project to reflect this, so I chose a gardening image for my inspiration and created a sweet vintage tag:

RRR Blog Hop 07

This tag is made with a 3 3/4″ x 7 3/4″ piece of watercolor paper.  I used Distress Inks in Broken China, Peeled Paint, Worn Lipstick and Vintage Photo to create a background.  I added some stencils and did a little masking that is hard to see in this photo, but adds a lot of depth to the tag.  I also die cut a leafy flourish and then began to add my chipboard and ribbons.

The chipboard image is from Graphic 45’s Place in Time Collection.  I like the way the blue checks in the chipboard play with the brown checks in the gorgeous Plaid Brown Ribbon.  I picked up on the blue elements by pairing it with Sheer Light Blue ribbon with embossed center.  This shade of blue and brown really sing together!

Along the base of my tag, I ran a triple border of the Delicate Rose Grosgrain Blue, Gabrielle Off White Crochet Lace and Delicate Rose Brown Grosgrain.  This border is topped with triple layer of double bows and a tiny Sweetheart Blossom.  I used my Bow It All Tool to tie each double ribbon and then stacked them together with the help of my glue gun.

To top off my tag, I used the same three ribbons, cutting a fishtail on each end.

I also threaded the blue ribbon through my chipboard sundial. Then I hand wrote the sentiment with a black Sharpie pen.

The little banners are Ideology word tickets that I trimmed into shape, inked and glued beneath the chipboard.
