Good Tuesday morning, friends! Just a quick post to share a fun, bright Fourth of July birthday card with all of you. July and August are our big birthday months: we have 7 birthdays to celebrate in those two months! Maybe you have someone with a July birthday that’s close to the 4th. If so, this bright, bold Fourth of July birthday card just might fill the bill:
I started with a 5×7 card base made from kraft cardstock. It was covered with a 6 3/4″x 4 3/4″ panel of Tim’s vintage license tags paper. I then layered on Shooting Stars Paper Tole from Paper Wishes. Some scraps of silver metallic paper were added as a border. I like the dimension you get when you layer these die cuts with foam tape. I also backed some of the images with silver paper.
And the fun triangular piece in the top left corner? That’s actually a bookmark. It just lifts off the corner and slips over the corner of a book page. (Or, you can use it for tabletop football if you glue the opening closed…which is what my boys probably would have done! LOL) You can find the tutorial here.
And a quick peek at the inside:
Don’t forget about my giveaway on the blog this week. Leave a comment on any of this week’s posts, and I’ll enter your name to win a $25 gift certificate to Crafty Secrets! If you would “like” my Kathy by Design Facebook page and/or subscribe to this blog, I would truly appreciate it! The drawing for the gift certificate will take place at 6PM EDT this Sunday. Winner will be announced in Monday’s blog post.
That’s it for me today, folks. I hope you all have a glorious 4th of July. I am so thankful for the freedoms we enjoy here in the USA…and eternally grateful to the men and women who have served, fought and sacrificed to preserve it.
Thanks for stopping by today. And thanks for taking the time to leave a comment. They always make me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers. Until next time…
