Fourth of July Birthday Card

Good Tuesday morning, friends!  Just a quick post to share a fun, bright Fourth of July birthday card with all of you.  July and August are our big birthday months: we have 7 birthdays to celebrate in those two months!  Maybe you have someone with a July birthday that’s close to the 4th.  If so, this bright, bold Fourth of July birthday card just might fill the bill:

016 (2) I started with a 5×7 card base made from kraft cardstock.  It was covered with a 6 3/4″x 4 3/4″ panel of Tim’s vintage license tags paper.  I then layered on Shooting Stars Paper Tole from Paper Wishes.  Some scraps of silver metallic paper were added as a border.  4th July Birthday03 I like the dimension you get when you layer these die cuts with foam tape.  I also backed some of the images with silver paper.

And the fun triangular piece in the top left corner?  That’s actually a bookmark.  4th July Birthday04 It just lifts off the corner and slips over the corner of a book page.  (Or, you can use it for tabletop football if you glue the opening closed…which is what my boys probably would have done!  LOL) You can find the tutorial here.

And a quick peek at the inside:

That’s it for me today, folks.  I hope you all have a glorious 4th of July.  I am so thankful for the freedoms we enjoy here in the USA…and eternally grateful to the men and women who have served, fought and sacrificed to preserve it.

Thanks for stopping by today.  And thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.  They always make me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers.  Until next time…

I’m struck by illusion of texture in the license plate paper. Very cool paper. The card is fabulous – all those different stars! But my most favorite bit of all is the clever bookmark on the corner. Yes!

Love this masculine July 4th birthday card – it’s almost as much fun as real fireworks. Great job!
