Heartfelt Creations Wednesday: Dream

Heartfelt CCM 04Heartfelt Creations Wednesday: Dream

Hello, Friends!  It’s the last Wednesday in July.  Can you believe it?  I have an elegant little wall hanging to share on this Heartfelt Creations Wednesday.  I’ve titled it “Dream.”

Heartfelt CCM 01aI began with a piece of heavy Ivory Chipboard that I painted and altered with papers from the Cut, Mat, Create Paper Collection. I did some stamping and added the beautiful Decorative Leafy Frame Die and a flower made with a Sweet Lullaby die and some Classic Leaves. I kept this piece fairly simple as I wanted that beautiful purple cameo to hold center stage.

Heartfelt CCM 02aI custom dyed my shabby bow using Cream Seam Binding from Really Reasonable Ribbon. You’ll find a complete supply list and detailed instructions in the tutorial below.

I think this would be a lovely wall hanging in a young girl’s room and I just love these purple papers from Heartfelt Creations.  Thanks for stopping by today! Until next time,

Other: 452255 Grand Calibur
Other Products: Distress Ink: Shaded Lilac, Dusty Concord, Milled Lavender, Chipped Sapphire, Seedless Preserves, Peeled Paint, ColorBox Frost White, Versamark, Ancient Gold Embossing Powder, WOW Ultra Neutral Shimmer Embossing Powder; Paper: White Cardstock, Purple Cardstock; Embellishments: Ivory Seam Binding, lace, chipboard word, pearls, cameo, ribbon, white Sharpie Pen, large chipboard shape
Directions: Use Distress Inks and applicator to sponge ink colors around the edge of the chipboard shape. (I purchased my chipboard shape at Crafty Secrets.) Trace the chipboard shape onto paper from the paper collection and cut so that it is 1/4″ smaller on all sides. Ink the edges with Chipped Sapphire DI, and sponge with a variety of purple distress inks. Distress the edges. Use the daisy border stamp from Vines and Blooms to stamp randomly around the edges of the cut paper shape. Sprinkle with WOW embossing powder and heat set. Glue onto the chipboard, centering the points. Use HCD 749 to cut a large rectangle from purple cardstock. Use Frost White Ink to stamp the Elegant Script stamp on this panel. Ink the edges with Chipped Sapphire DI. Stamp the leafy floral frame with Shaded Lilac DI. Die cut. Glue onto purple cardstock panel. Add a cameo that has been strung with purple ribbon. Attach ribbon to the back with tape. Set aside.
Tap the chipboard word with Versamark and heat emboss with Antique Gold Embossing Powder.
Die cut the largest Sweet Lullaby flower from white chipboard. Sponge with Dusty Concord DI. Stamp and die cut small leaves from Classic Leaf and color with Peeled Paint DI.
Color lace and seam binding with Distress Inks by smooshing the inks onto a craft mat, spritzing with water and dragging ribbons through. Set lace aside to air dry. Scrunch the seam binding and dry with your heat gun. Set aside.
To assemble: Use double sided adhesive to secure lace to the base of the chipboard. Glue down the panel with the cameo so that it rests slightly over the lace. Glue the chipboard word to the base of the cameo panel. Glue down the Sweet Lullaby flower on the left hand side of the chipboard word. Clip the leaves and tuck above and below the flower. Tie a 4″ piece of the dyed ribbon through the top of the chipboard shape to use as a hanger for the piece. Tie the rest of the ribbon into a shabby bow and glue down with glue gun. Add pearls. Use white sharpie pen to draw in lines and dots.

A beautiful card , a lovely cameo, necklace, in history at one time most all young girls had one. It represented the coming of womanhood, and recognized her as the soft precious gift God gave the family an friends. Appreciated as elegant China, protected and cherished…..well done.
