Life is a Cup of Tea

Dynamic Duos #70 07Life is a Cup of Tea: Dynamic Duos #70

I know, I know….I already posted once to day.  But all of a sudden I realized that the Dynamic Duos challenge ends today at noon PST.  So, I am, once again, just slipping in under the wire.  Here’s the color combo for this week’s challenge:

Can I just say, I am a huge fan of yellow with green?  I had to play, right?  So here’s my Life is a Cup of Tea card:

Dynamic Duos #70 09  I embossed Pistachio Pudding cardstock and then hit it lightly with a little Picket Fence Distress Stain.  The So Saffron panel was cut with a Spellbinder’s die.  I used a cute acrylic stamp set from Darsie’s Heart and Home collection called (appropriately) Cup of Tea.  I used the rose stamp with Versamark to create my background, and heat set it with Ancient Gold Embossing Powder.    The edges were sponged with Scattered Straw Distress Ink.

003 (3)  The teacup was stamped onto So Saffron cardstock using Versamark ink and heat set with Super Fine White embossing powder from Ranger.  I don’t know i f you can see it here, but in real life, it looks like old porcelain, which is very cool.

I stamped the sentiment onto a piece of Whisper White and then put it onto the tea tag–which I saved from my morning cuppa!  I used small dots of white glue to hold the string just the way I wanted it.

Dynamic Duos #70 10  Here’s a peek at the inside…pretty straightforward…but I do love that little “porcelain” cup!

Thanks for letting me share my Life is  Cup of Tea card.  Those of you who know me are aware of my lifelong love for a good cup of tea!  How about you?  Are you a tea drinker?  Coffee float your boat?  Cocoa?  Let me know….I love hearing from you because your comments make me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers.  Now, keep calm…and put the kettle on!

Gorgeous colors, and fabulous texture! Seriously, I want to get my hands on this one just to feel all that lovely texture. And the brilliance of using a real tea tag! I’m a big fan.

A lovely set you have created. The extra care you took to embellish the envelope as well is just wonderful 🙂 Thank you for joining us at Dynamic Duos this week, we sure hope to see you back again soon!!!

What a sweet little cup for tea! I love how you sat it against the doily! I love the envelope almost as much as the card! I really must start doing that!

Kathy, missed you at the VOS meeting the other night. I did however hear of your blog to which I subscribed. You have the most beautiful cards and enjoyed seeing how you do them. Today I was playing with paint colors which was fun. See you in November. Les

Awww how adorable is this creation! I’m a tea drinker at heart but I find it gives me heart burn sometimes (or maybe it’s the ginger snaps I’m dunking? Hmmm!) but either way, I just love this creation and so glad you got it done in time for the challenge!!
    Happy Day!!
