May Arts Spring Craft Challenge

Good Tuesday Morning!

A few weeks ago, I shared this Secret Garden Treasure Box and mini album that I created for the May Arts Ribbon Spring Challenge.  Today, the projects from all the participants are posted on the May Arts Ribbon blog.  If you would like to take a look and cast your vote for your favorite project, there are three spools of gorgeous May Arts Ribbon up for grabs!  Yep.  You could win 3 spools of any ribbon you choose, just for looking at beautiful crafts and casting a vote.  Does it get any simpler than that?

Once again, here’s what I created:

Secret Garden Treasure Box. I loved working with the lightweight faux canvas! The burlap flower is made using the Tattered Florals die. I backed the burlap with iron on interfacing to prevent it from raveling, then painted with Picket Fence Distress Ink and Spritzed with Perfect Pearls.

The photo pages are all ready to receive a standard 3x5" photo. I used a white pen to doodle around the edges of the black pages. If you look at the tops and sides, you'll see the tags peeping out from their hidden pockets.

I used every smidge of that gorgeous salmon faux canvas, so had to dip into my stash to make these ribbon roses. But, you can see that I used more of the natural burlap along the left hand side of the mini. I also used Graphic 45 Staples, old jewelry, a muse token and a key from my stash to adorn the cover. It's very sturdy!

I know our hearts are all aching for the people of Boston and the families of those who were tragically killed or injured in yesterday’s senseless act of violence.  Let’s fill this sad world with beauty and love and kindness.  Be extra good to the people you come into contact with today.  Life is fragile; handle it with love and caring.  Until next time,

Cheerio,

kathy

So I figured the voting process out — scroll through all the projects and then just leave your vote as a comment at the end. I posted one on their facebook page too, for good measure!

Beautiful! I would like to vote but I don’t see where that can be done…. At the top of the page it said something about only the ‘Ribbon Lady’ making the choice. I want to vote!!!
