Mojo Monday 276

I’ve always been a bit of a free spirit. I’m not overly fond of rules. I’m able to set my own goals and see them to completion most of the time. I taught myself how to play guitar back in the 70’s, using an old Mel Bay “How to Play Guitar” book. I taught myself how to cook, because it made me nervous to have my mother hovering over me telling me what to do next. I taught myself how to type when I was in 7th grade. So, entering online challenges has never really appealed to me. I like to create what I like to create when I like to create it, the way I like to create it. Having said that, it occurred to me sometime late in 2012 that I might be missing out on some real growth opportunities by ignoring online challenges in the paper crafting world. I decided a good goal for 2013 would be to enter at least one challenge a month.

I’ve been subscribing to the Mojo Monday blog for a few years now. I liked receiving the sketches, even though I never made a card based on one of the designs. (Free Spirit, remember?) It seemed a natural venue for carrying out my decision to play with others online.

The Mojo Monday sketch for this week looks like this:

And this is my version of this sketch:

Mojo Monday 276

And you know what? I had fun making it. I hope you enjoy it, too.

Thanks for visiting my blog today. I’d love to hear from you!

Now that didn’t hurt too much, did it? Following a sketch!? You interpreted it beautifully! Sometimes I start a card by using a sketch, then head off in a completely different direction! At least it gives me a starting point! Your card is beautiful! I love the placement of the bird and flowers around the sentiment on the doily!!

I always love the way you utilize a sketch, Broni…you always do something innovative with it. And, no. It didn’t hurt too much! I actually enjoyed it! LOL
