Warning: Bright Colors Ahead!
Hi, Folks…just squeaking in under the line for this week’s Mojo Monday sketch…and it’s a great one! Here’s the sketch:
Looks like a party in card, doesn’t it? While I was deciding to try to squeeze this one in, I got my Dynamic Duos colors in for the week, and I thought, “Why not?” These are bright sunny colors, and I felt they would work well with this amazing sketch.
That’s some bold color right there folks….and here’s what I did with Mojo Monday # 298 and Dynamic Duos # 58:
I started with a 6 1/2″x 5″ card base made from Tangerine Tango, topping it with a 6 1/4″ x 4 3/4″ panel of Cajun Craze. To this, I added a 3 3/4″x 4 1/2″ panel of DCWV paper from the Taj Mahal pad., matting it with Tangerine Tango. The ruffled polka dot ribbon was adhered with 1/8″ sticky strip. I then cut a 1 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ strip cut from the embossed border of this paper and matted it with the Tangerine Tango. Seven little flags were cut and mounted on Tangerine Tango and spaced evenly down the right hand side of this panel. The panel was wrapped with Lawn Fawn twine in pink lemonade. Then a large button with a twine bow was added.
Stamping the Sentiment
A white panel 3×3 1/2″ panel of confetti white cardstock was stamped with a Red Lead statement stamp. The stamp was inked using Distress Markers in Rusty Hinge, Spiced Marmalade and Dried Marigold and stamped down the left hand side of the panel. Then, I inked up another great Red Lead stamp in the same way and stamped it at an angle on the white panel. The edges were also brushed with Distress Markers.
The white panel was mounted on a panel of Tangerine Tango and Cajun Craze that had been dry embossed. The Cajun Craze was embossed with the Swiss Dot embossing folder and the edges were brushed with Distress Markers. The Tangerine Tango panel was embossed with a Sizzix collage folder and the edges were inked with Distress Markers. They were adhered to the center of the decorative panel, then the sentiment panel was bumped up with dimensionals at an angle. A square orange rhinestone was adhered in the lower right corner.
Sunshiny sentiment on the inside
I kept the inside pretty simple, since the exterior is so bright an bold. I cut a 6 1/4″x 4 3/4″ panel of the DCWV paper and glued it down with Aleene’s Tacky Glue. The sentiment, is from the Typography stamp set from Artistic Outpost. I simply inked it up with Rusty Hinge and then matted it with a rectangle of Cajun Craze and Tangerine Tango.
The envelope was lined with a complimentary paper from my scrap drawer
Here’s another look from a different angle:
And that’s it for me today, folks! I hope you enjoyed my take on Mojo Monday # 298 and Dynamic Duos # 58. Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for always leaving such encouraging comments! They make me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers! Until next time…
