Really Reasonable Ribbon Pink Challenge
Hello and Happy New Year to all you fabulous ribbon lovers everywhere! It’s time to ring in 2j014 with the Really Reasonable Ribbon Pink Challenge. The theme for Challenge #86 is Pink & Ribbon. Create a card, layout, tag, multi-media piece, hairbow…you name it! Just follow the theme above and be sure to use ribbon, lace or trim somewhere on your project. You can find full details on the RRR blog.
I used papers and images from Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet to create this 5″ x 7″ layered card. I wrapped the card base with an oval French doily and then adorned the base with luxurious Silky Crush Rose ribbon.
The 1 1/2″ wide ribbon was pleated and held in place with mini glue dots. I used my Zutter Bow it All Tool to create the double layered bow. I used a Spellbinder’s die and vellum cardstock to create the poinsettia. I tapped Spun Sugar Distress ink on the petals while they were still in the die, and then embossed with glitter embossing powder before shaping and layering the petals.
I used Frosted Crystal Distress Stickles in areas of the ballerina’s tutu and toe shoes to add some extra shimmer. Our 4 year old granddaughter is transfixed by the Nutcracker ballet this year, and that was the inspiration for this card.
I matted all the images with pink cardstock.
I carried the pink theme onto the inside of the card as well.
I hope you will join in the challenge this month. It’s easy! Just create a NEW project using pink ribbon, lace or trim and then use the linky tool on the RRR blog to join the party! Be sure to read the guidelines so that your entry will count.
