Good Tuesday Morning! Today I have another card made for the Seize the Birthday blog. This week is challenge #17…and it’s a really fun sketch:
You can click on the sketch to go to their website and add your own fabulous birthday card based on this sketch. The challenge is open until Tuesday, May 28th at noon.
So what did I come up with for this fabulous sketch? I decided to go feminine this time, and for some reason, I’ve been on a purple and green kick the past few days. And, I was wanting to take this sketch vintage…
I began with a 5x 6 1/2 rectangle of olive green cardstock, layered it with a piece of pretty plum cardstock and used Versamark on my Sun Kissed Fleur Pre Cut Background stamp. I then heat embossed with white super fine embossing powder. A decorative stitch was added to the perimeter. edges were inked with Peeled Paint Distress Stain and distressed. I layered the other elements onto varying shades of purple/green cardstock. The images are from the cut apart pages of Graphic 45’s Place in Time Collection. Easy Peasy!
and the flap. (There’s a tutorial on how to do this here.)
And that’s it! I was pleasantly surprised to finish this card in under 30 minutes from concept to completion. That’s really good for someone who can spend a whole day on one card. Why don’t you enter YOUR card in the Seize the Birthday challenge this week? It’s a great sketch, and there’s plenty of time to participate. I find that challenges often cause me to look at my supplies in a new light, and a fresh perspective is always a good thing.
I’ll be back tomorrow with a dreamy project for Heartfelt Creations. It’s a perfect gift for the bride to be, the expectant mom, or the recent grad. What do you think it might be? Come back tomorrow and all will be revealed! In the meantime, make today beautiful. Thanks for stopping by…your comments make me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers!
