Sew Sweet Mini Album for Crafty Secrets

Good Morning my friends!  I have a treat for you today!  A while back, Sandy found these Mini Accordion Pocket Albums in the warehouse and featured them in the blog.  She graciously sent some to me, and I have been waiting for just the right idea to pop into my crafty little brain so that I could make one.  Here’s what they look like:

And here’s what they look like when you take them out of the package:

and when you open them up:

Aren’t they fabulous? Super sturdy, pre-creased and ready to alter!  They measure 4″ x 5 1/2″ x 1″ so they are a lovely size to work with.

I spent a whole day last week organizing my digital files into themed folders so that I could find my beautiful digital images and papers more efficiently.  And as I was doing so, I came across the sewing images…which I think are just fabulous! And I knew just what I was going to do with my little accordion pocket album.  Wanna see?

I’ll show you the inside in a second, but I want to give you the links to the digital images I used in this project first:

Digital Sewing Papers

Digital - Printable Button Cards - T-13

Printable Button Cards

With the accordion album and these two sets and some embellishments from your stash, you can complete this mini in an afternoon.  I started by printing out my papers, cutting them to size and then lining the pages.  I printed the pretty button girl three times, fussy cut portions from the base and then stacked them with foam dots to create dimension.

Can you see how I use one whole button card, cut just the inner portion from a second and then just the button lady from a third and then stacked them all together.  I just added a little Diamond Stickles to her bodice to give her a little sparkle, and outlined the pink border with one of my Gelly Roll Glaze pens to make it pop.

The front of the album was covered with the button paper, then I layered all the other elements on.

Here’s the first page.  The tags are printed from the digital papers and they are so cute!  I did a lot of stitching and added some fun interactive fold down flaps, pull out tags and other sweet surprises.  I love the tickets, and they made a perfect banner on this page.

Honestly, these papers are gorgeous!

The page on the right has a fold down flap.  the dress form is held in place with the little brown clip.

There’s room to add a photo behind the tag on this page.  Maybe of someone’s first sewing lesson, or a completed project.

Here’s another fun pocket and tag combo.  I used a ton of buttons from my stash, and it felt so good to give them a home in this little album!  The button paper is one of my favorites!

This slash pocket is built into the album design.  Just cover it with paper and you are all set.  There’s room here to tuck in more photos, or souvenirs.  The page on the right would make a great journaling spot.

I had to show you the tiny clothespin….all together now..awwwwwww!

It will stand all on it’s own if you want to display it on a shelf or mantle.

I used the ribbon rulers on the spine and added a poufy pink gingham bow with twine and a button. The back is decorated with another panel of the button paper.

The closure is really clever, too.  It slips right into a slot and really holds everything secure.

There are so many beautiful papers in this digital set that I want to make more projects with.  They are wonderfully vintage and super fun to work with.  Just what you need to inspire you in the middle of this long winter!  You could put together lots and lots of cards with these images, and I’d love to make a banner!  Time will tell…

I’ve never really been much of a seamstress.  My mother could sew to beat the band, but I never learned from her.  I bought my first sewing machine a few years ago so that I could sew on paper!  LOL  I’m slowly learning how to use it but I still don’t really sew.

I hope you enjoyed my Sew Sweet Mini Album for Crafty Secrets, and I hope you found some good ideas that you can use in your own crafting.  Thanks for stopping by!  Having you visit makes me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers!

Kathy – I love your mini-album with all the flaps and special openings! You did a beautiful job with your papers and embellishments! Love the tiny clothespin…I also don’t sew on a machine, but my brother recently bought one for me. Seeing all the sewing on papers makes me want to give it a try. Thanks for always inspiring me! Lovely, lovely work!

Kathy…this mini album is super super cute. I love that style of that blank album. So clever with the little pull downs, pockets and fun interactive pieces. Right up our alley, right?! I adore the way you’ve finished out the pages. Those papers are lovely…love the colors and the images. They are such a sweet mix of vintage. The little gingham ribbons you’ve added and the machine stitching really do finish off all of your pages done with so much love perfectly. And those little metal scissors and the laces and buttons……oh my goodness! I could just go on and on. I also wanted to thank you for the very sweet comment you left on my blog. You always make my day! <3 Candy

Love this mini album. It really is “sew” sweet! Melody’s remark about making pants made me laugh out loud. 🙂 Great job – it’s a beautiful piece!

So sweet! I just found my (very blank) mini album and was wondering what to do with it. Now I’ve seen a completed one, perhaps it will be easier! I love love LOVE all the buttons and the clips and the mini clothespin. And since you don’t sew, I guess it’s a good thing you didn’t have to make pants that one time! 😉

Kathy, this is AWESOME…..a great job of putting all the cute things together. And I like the sound of organizing the digital computer files…something I just listed “TO DO”….I put off ordering them as I haven’t taken time to get that part of my life ORGANIZED!!! Thanks for sharing your creative fun.
