Shabby Chic Birthday Card

Hello, Friends!

I’m just popping in very quickly this morning to share a beautiful shabby chic birthday card that I made using my Creating with Vintage Illustrations CD 2 and some beautiful bits from Love Mail Creative Scraps from Crafty Secrets. If you are not familiar with this CD, I encourage you to take a closer look, as it is just loaded with beautiful papers, illustrations, ephemera bits and more!

cd_flyer-2I could create for days on end using nothing but this CD!  I wanted to play with a pink and grey color combo on this card, and found just the right mix of papers and images to do so.

cs pink and grey01Stitching, distressing, inking and stickling….so much fun!  The focal image is from Love Mail, and the stickers are added from the Brass and Cream Hardware Stickers Sandy has on sale in the store.

cs pink and grey03I added some Glossy Accents to make them appear even more dimensional.  I just love the vintage/shabby chic vibe of this card.

cs pink and grey02My beautiful fluffy bow is tied with Pink Silky Crush Ribbon and topped with a vintage button from my grandmother’s button box.

cs pink and grey04I added more of the pretty pink polka dot paper inside the card, along with a stamped sentiment from the Garden Girls set.  It’s perfect for this shabby chic birthday card, dontcha think?

Be sure to check out the Blow Out Sales Sandy is having to clear out her U.S. warehouse!  There are 8 sale packs in all, but the Girlfriends Sale Pack would give you tons of pretty pink paper goodies to play with.

I absolutely ADORE this card Kathy! You’ve drawn together an assortment of things and made them all ‘speak’ to each other, and it’s this which makes this so incredibly special. The card has a secret language – and it keeps the viewer looking and looking and looking.

Fabulous card, and one which I’d never put away!
