Sparkle, Glitz or Glam Challenge for CHACB
Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge #4
Welcome to another meeting of the Craft Hoarders Anonymous support group. I don’t know about you, but I am having so much fun digging into my stash, my hoard, my Closet of Shame for these challenges! Now it’s time for the Sparkle, Glitz or Glam Challenge for CHACB. Here are the details:
Challenge #4 Show Some Sparkle, Glitz, or Glam!
Graphic 45 is our sponsor this month. They are known for their fabulous vintage products and papers. To pay homage to their glamour and style, create a project that shows off your hoarded sparkly items. Show some glitz! Pump up the glam! Use this photo collection for extra inspiration.
Our very generous friends at Graphic 45 have sponsored both the design team and provided another incredible prize package for this challenge. Take a peek at this vintage goodness that you could add to your personal hoard:
Glitzy Mother Goose Birthday Card
Our sweet granddaughter Julia celebrated her 2nd birthday last weekend. She is a lively, loving and happy little soul, and she loves to be read to. Here’s a photo of Julia with beautiful Big Sis Sophie:
Now I ask you, is that a cookie face, or is that a cookie face? All together, “Awwwwwwwwww…”
I decided to create a keepsake box and a card that could function as room decor. Since I had a pad of Mother Goose that had been sitting, unopened, in my hoard, I went in that direction:
I dug into my hoarded stick pins, and found these glitzy stars to add to the mix. Then I layered on Stickles, Glossy accents and loads of cute tags and ribbon to complete my hand made box.
And here’s the card that’s inside the box.
A flashy, sparkly, flower, more stars and a festive banner with her name on it. The flower was fashioned from the die cut flowers that came with the collection. I hadn’t touched those, either. I layered the flower above some of my favorite 5/8″ black plaid ribbon from RRR.
Here are some more fun pics, and if you want to see more of the details, just click on the photos for a larger view.
I designed the card front with a hidden pocket containing 2 tags. (It’s birthday #2, so two buttons, two tags, can you find all the twos?)
The inside has more images from the collection, another pocket with a little tag, and a tag envelope where we tucked in some cash for her education fund.
Here are some additional photos of the box.
And the box and card together. She really liked the little pull out tags!
Here’s the list for the rest of the CHACB designers. Go take a peek at their fabulous interpretations of our Sparkle, Glitz and Glam challenge for CHACB, and be sure to leave them some bloggy love.
