Good Friday morning, Friends! This week has certainly flown by. Today, I’d like to share with you another card I made with the new Sun Kissed Fleur collection from Heartfelt Creations. I have to tell you, I am in love with the colors in this collection. And the new die that lets you cut 10 flowers and 2 leaves with just one pass through your machine is such a time saver. So, without further ado, behold, the lever card!
This is what I call an “engineered” card. The base is made from one sheet of paper that has been scored, folded and cut to create a card with lots of different sized surfaces, apertures and the ability to stand on its own. Even though the design of the lever card looks complicated, it’s actually a simple design. You can find a tutorial here. I changed the size of my card, and I changed where I made the cuts…just to be different. Here’s how the lever card looks when it is shut:
Here it is again, laid out flat. So, you can see, it’s easy to work on. Of course, I added stitching around the dark blue panels. And of course, I popped things up on foam. I love how the stamping in white just pops off the card. You can find the full tutorial for this card over on the Heartfelt Creations blog this week. I share all the details of how I created this fun, interactive card. Plus, there’s loads of inspiration from the other members of the design team to be found there, so it’s really worth a look.
That’s it for me today, folks. I hope you have a wonderful weekend with time to relax, time to play, and time to spend with the people you love. If you have time to leave me a comment, that would be great, too! LOL You know your comments make me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers. Until next time,
