Sweet Juliet Recap (Heartfelt Creations Wednesday)

Heartfelt Creations October 16 2013 04 Sweet Juliet Recap

Good morning, friends!  Happy Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!  Today I have two cards to share with you in our Sweet Juliet Recap.  I know I say this with every release, but this Sweet Juliet Collection really is a favorite of mine.  The vintage papers, stamps and dies are right up my alley. I love the fact that so many of the images lend themselves to water color!

Heartfelt Creations October 16 2013 01  This “You Are So Beautiful” card was stamped and watercolored, and I just love how soft and vintage the finished product is.

Heartfelt Creations October 16 2013 03 The neutral colors of the paper collection mean that I can work with my favorite accent colors to make them come alive.  Here’s the inside of this very feminine card:

Heartfelt Creations October 16 2013 05  If you’d like to make this card yourself, here is a complete list of supplies and detailed instructions:

Heartfelt Creations Product Used:  HCPC Beautiful Juliet PreCut Set; HCD 716 Layered Elegant Swirl Die; Antiquities Paper Collection

Other Product Used: Spellbinder’s Resplendent Rectangles Die, Distress Markers (Aged Mahogany, Bundled Sage, Scattered Straw; Peeled Paint, Antique Linen) water brush; Ribbon Stick Pins;; Wow Glitter Embossing Powder; Jet Black Archival Ink.;Sheer polka dot ribbon;

Direction:  create a 7” x 5” kraft card base with the fold on the top.  Cut the “memories with you” panel from the card front page of the Sweet Juliet Collection.   Die cut 2 of the Layered Elegant Swirls and tap with Versamark.  Tap randomly all over with Antique Linen Distress Ink.  Sprinkle with Wow Glitter Embossing powder, tap off excess and heat set.  Glue down on the right and left hand sides of the circle that is in the center of the card front.  Wrap with ribbon and glue the panel down onto the card base.

Stamp the Beautiful Juliet flower onto a piece of white cardstock using Jet Black Archival Ink.  Center the #2 die from Resplendent Rectangles over the stamped image and die cut.  Remove from die and use Distress Inks and water brush to color the image.  Use foam tape to mount the stamped panel in the center of the card.  Create a bow, add to the left of the image.  Insert stick pins.

For the interior: cut a 6 ¾” x 4 ¾” panel from the burgundy Post Card paper.  Glue down.  Computer journal the sentiment onto plain printer paper.  Ink with Aged mahogany and antique linen distress inks.  Glue down in the lower left hand corner of the card.

Heartfelt Creations October 16 2013 06 The second card I have to share with you was made with one of the card fronts and the circular greeting stamps.  I just love the little banner that is strung across the top of the card!

Heartfelt Creations October 16 2013 07  This card came together very quickly, but it looks like a lot of fuss and trouble went into creating it.  The center has been lightly watercolored.

Heartfelt Creations October 16 2013 08  I think it would make a great anniversary, wedding or engagement card.  Here’s a peek at the inside:

Heartfelt Creations October 16 2013 09  And here’s the list of supplies and detailed instructions for making this card:

Heartfelt Creations Product Used:  HCPC 3568 Moments With You PreCut Set; HCPC 3567 Juliet Spray PreCut Set; HCDP1237 Antiquities Paper Collection

Other Product Used:  Cherry Cobbler Cardstock; Kraft Cardstock; Spellbinder’s M-Bossabilities folder (Mystic); Distress Markers; water brush; Stampendous Marcasite Embossing Powder; Ribbon, Brads, Jute string; Versamark Embossing Ink Pad; Aged Mahogany Distress Ink Pad

Directions:  Create a 5” x 6 ¼” card base from kraft cardstock, fold on the left.  Cut a 4 7/8”x 6 1/8” panel of the burgundy swirl paper from the Sweet Juliet collection.

Cut a 4 7/8”x 6 1/8” panel of kraft cardstock.  Rub the flat side of the Spellbinder’s  Mystic

M-Bossabilities folder with the Aged Mahogany Distress Ink.  Center the kraft cardstock onto the raised side of the folder and carefully close the folder. Run through your machine and remove.  Ink the edges a little more heavily with Aged Mahogany.  Set aside.

Cut out the journaling tag from the paper collection.  Stamp with the Love, Joy, Happiness circular greeting in Versamark.  Sprinkle with Stampendous Marcasite Embossing powder.  Tap off excess and heat set.  Color the center using Aged Mahogany and Soft Sage Distress Markers and a water brush.  Ink the edges with Aged Mahogany ink and adhere to kraft panel. Cut a 5” piece of black ribbon.  Shape a fishtail on the right hand side.  Run black ribbon along the base of the card, wrapping the end around the back of the panel, as shown.  Top with a bow. Center this panel with the burgundy panel you cut out in step two and glue down.

Cut 5 small pennants from the script paper. Ink the edges with Aged Mahogany ink.   Back with kraft paper and cut around three of them with shaped scissors.  Cut the other two pennants out with straight scissors.  Ink the edges with Aged Mahogany ink.  Arrange the pennants so that they are evenly spaced and glue down just below the jute string, so that they look like they are hanging from it.  Add a brad on each side and glue the entire panel onto the kraft base.

For the interior, cut a 4 ¾” x 6 1/8” panel from the script background paper.  Glue down.  Cut a 3 ½” square of kraft paper and stamp with the Congratulations stamp in black ink.  Mat onto cherry cobbler cardstock.  Cut a 3 ¾” strip of ribbon and shape fishtails on both ends.  Mat onto the burgundy swirl paper.  Place at the base of the sentiment panel.

This wonderfully versatile collection is only available through November 8, 2013.  I can see myself using these elements to make lots of quick, but elegant cards.  You can find lots of inspiration for the Sweet Juliet Recap on the Heartfelt Creations blog as well as links to wonderful video tutorials that share tips and tricks for getting the most out of your supplies.

Kathy, your first card is just beautiful! I love the soft colors you have used to make this such a dainty card and your fabulous water coloring just accentuates the feminine look to your card.

Beautiful cards! I love the ribbon choice on both of them, and love the soft colors. The banner on the 2nd one is great. Fantastic job! Both would be treasured by anyone who received them.
