Sweet Season Pocket Tag for Heartfelt Creations
Welcome, friends! Today I have another Christmas card to share with you using supplies from Heartfelt Creations. This card was made using the fun and festive Striped Candy Cane PreCut Set and the very versatile Holiday Script Background PreCut set. I also made good use of the Layered Elegant Swirl Die. This card has some fun hidden features….like a pocket, and a greeting tag:
Heartfelt Creations Product Used: HCDP1 225 Frosty Blanket Paper Collection; HCD 716 Layered Elegant Swirl; HCPC 3555 Sweet Memories PreCut Set; HCPC 3558 Striped Candy Cane PreCut Set; HCPC 3562 Holiday Script Background PreCut Set
Other Product used: Distress Markers: Peeled Paint, Fired Brick, Forest Moss, Barn Door; Cardstock: Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Burgundy; Red Gingham ribbon; Red, green and clear rhinestones; Archival Ink: Library Green, Vermillion; Versamark Embossing Ink; Gold Embossing Powder; Holgraphic Gold Cardstock; Ancient Gold Embossing Powder, Burgundy Sharpie Pen; Crème de Rouge Glimmer Mist. 1” circle punch.
Directions: To create Pocket: Cut a 6 ¼”x 11” rectangle from Always Artichoke Cardstock. Score at 5 ¼” and 10 ½” . Crease along the folds. Use double sided adhesive along the bottom edge and along the half inch overhang. Fold to create a pocket. Add faux stitching around the perimeter.
Cut a 4 ¾” by 5 ¾” rectangle from the burgundy cardstock. Center with the pocket and adhere.
Use Distress Markers to color directly onto the Holiday Script Background stamp. “Huff” onto the stamp, and then stamp onto white cardstock. Immediately heat emboss with Ancient Gold Embossing Powder. Lightly spritz the surface with Crème de Rouge Glimmer Mist. Trim around edges and mat with Always Artichoke cardstock. Stitch around the perimeter. Lightly distress the edges of the green cardstock.
Die cut 4 of the Layered Elegant Swirls from white cardstock. Place two in the center of the pocket front. Run red gingham ribbon over the die cuts to hide the seam. Glue to card pocket. Add the bow.
Stamp the candy canes with Vermillion Archival Ink onto white cardstock. Stamp the poinsettia portion two more times. Fussy cut and color. Mat candy canes with burgundy cardstock. Add Christmas Red Stickles to the red candy cane stripes and the holly berries. Shape the extra flowers and layer onto the candy canes. Add a decorative button. Use foam tape to secure the candy canes to the pocket front. Glue all the layers onto the pocket front. Use the circle punch to cut a half circle opening at the center top of the pocket.
For the tag: Cut a 4 ¾” by 6” rectangle from the burgundy cardstock. Cut a 4 ½” x 5 ½” panel from the diagonal striped paper. Stitch to the burgundy panel. Stamp the candy canes in Versamark and heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Stamp the sentiment onto white cardstock using Library Green Archival Ink. Mat with gold holographic paper. Add the 2 remaining Elegant Swirl Die cuts to the top of the tag, gluing them back to back. Thread red gingham ribbon through the die cut and tie into a bow. Add rhinestones.
