And here’s the Valentine I was inspired to make with these ribbons:

RRR Blog Hop January 03

This 7″ x 5″ card started with a kraft base that was topped with  6 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ pink cardstock.dry embossed a 6 1/2″ x 4 1/2 rectangle of glossy white cardstock and sewed around the perimeter.

I used Scor-Tape to secure the ribbons on the base of the card.  I started with Mixed Pink Hearts Grosgrain Ribbon and then topped that with Candy Hearts Grosgrain ribbon and completed the trio with a strip of the luscious Sally White Crochet Lace.  Using these ribbons at the base of my card not only anchored the design, but added some wonderful color and texture.

The heart and key were stamped  in Frost White Color Box Archival Ink, then heat embossed with white super fine embossing powder.  These were fussy cut and layered onto the card base  with foam tape.

I love polka dots.  They make me happy!  So when the Mixed Pink Confetti Dots ribbon showed up in my Ribbon Club assortment, I knew I would be using that on this project.  I added it to the top of the card and then wrapped it with Raspberry Baker’s Twine.

I used my Zutter Bow-it-All tool to tie the sassy bow on top of the key.  (I love this tool…it makes me feel like a bow tying diva instead of a bow tying drop out!)

I kept the inside simple, with another stamped heart and a lightly stamped panel.  The perfect spot for writing your own personal Valentine greeting.

And, I took the time to decorate the envelope, too.

Yep.  more polka dots.  Because they make me happy!
