Graphic 45 Mon Amour Card Tutorial for Throwback Thursday

Hello Friends!  Welcome to the latest installment of Throwback Thursday!  Today I’m serving up this shabby chic, romantic Graphic 45 Mon Amour Card tutorial.  This gorgeous collection was released in 2015, and I’m betting a lot of you G45 fans have some in your stash.  Since Valentine’s Day is creeping up on us, I thought it would be fun to feature it on Throwback Thursday.  If you don’t have it on hand, you can still use this tutorial with another “oldie but goodie” collection.  So dust off your paper stash, sharpen your scissors and let’s get our craft on!

Graphic 45 Mon Amour Card Tutorial: The Basics

The base for this card is a 5″ x 7″ top fold with a 1/2″ spine made from an 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheet of cream cardstock.  If you’ve never made this style of card base before, you can find a tutorial for that HERE. This Halloween tutorial demonstrates the technique used for building a 5″ x 7″ top fold card with a 1/2″ base.  It is a side fold card in the tutorial. To make it a top fold card, simply,  turn it “on its head” and then proceed with this tutorial.

Here is a look at what we’ll be making today:

That gorgeous butterfly cluster features Printed Beauty Board from Renea Bouquets.  I love the dimension and sparkle it adds to the card.

I think this would made a great Valentine…or a great all occasion card.  It was such fun to pull this lovely retired collection out of storage and put it to good use.  If you have it in your stash and would like to make this card, just follow along in this Throwback Thursday video tutorial.

I hope I’ve shared some tips, tricks and ideas you can use in your own crafty adventures.  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Graphic 45 Mon Amour and Romantic Ribbon: Wedding Gift Card Holder

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  What do you get when you combine Romantic Ribbon with Graphic 45 Mon Amour Papers?  Today’s project is overflowing with lovey-dovey, mushy goodness!  I love the new Mon Amour collection from Graphic 45, and I paired it up with the most scrumptious, romantic ribbon, trims and blossoms I could find in my stash.  Get out your fainting couch, because this ribbon is swoon-worthy!

Ooh-la-la!  There is so much ribbony goodness going on here that I hardly know where to start!  This is one of the Middy Bitty Chevron Kraft Bags all dressed up with Mon Amour papers, Garden Rose Double Sided Satin Ribbon, White Iridescent Metallic String, Tabitha Natural Crochet Lace, and a soft pink Mulberry Blossom from the Mixed Magnolia Bouquet.

I used 2.5″ Vintage Garden Print Natural Cotton Ribbon to create a belly band on the Middy Bitty Bag.  And I glittered the edges of the magnolia petals, too.  I just love all the wonderful textures these various ribbons add to the project.

I thought you might like a peeky at the insert I created for this unique wedding card gift holder.

I dry brushed a little white paint around the edges of my card to fit in with the shabby chic feel of this card.

If you’re looking for a fun idea for your honey this Valentine’s Day, you could easily alter the sentiments and embellies just a little, and this little bag could hold a Valentine’s Day treat.
