Heartfelt Creations Wednesday Time to Bloom Altered Clock
Hello, Friends! Welcome to Heartfelt Creations Wednesday. Today I have an exciting “off the page” project to share with you. My Time to Bloom Altered Clock is loaded with dozens and dozens of handmade flowers from Heartfelt Creations. You’ll find a complete supply list and detailed directions at the bottom of this post.
I was given this lovely clock as a gift from a friend several years ago. When Heartfelt released their amazing Once Upon a Time Collection I knew I wanted to give it a face lift with items from this collection and a whole assortment of HC flower dies.
I began by painting the porcelain base with gesso and then painting with Evergreen Bough Distress Paint. I also distressed the gold areas of the clock with this paint. Then the real fun began: making flowers! Let’s take a look at the clock without the cloche so you can really see them in all their glory. Remember, you can click on the photos to get a better look at the details.
I die cut the clock face from the collection, distressed it, inked it and added Clear Rock Candy Distress Paint. It was then glued over the existing clock face and sealed with Studio Matte Multi Medium Gel.
I added artwork from the paper collection to my flower garden.
This is the back side of the clock. I covered up the black battery box with flowers so that the clock can be displayed on all sides, just in case you want to change things up.
The clock with the cloche in place. It will protect those flowers from dust and dirt.
I had so much fun altering this clock and making all these flowers. It was a lot of stamping, embossing, die cutting and shaping, but I think the results were worth it, don’t you?
Be sure to stop by the HC blog where you’ll enjoy dozens of gorgeous samples from the design team. You can also click on their links in my side bar. I know you’ll be inspired.
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my Time to Bloom Altered Clock. Creating all those flowers made me happy right down to the tips of my crafty little fingers.

Directions: Paint the porcelain base of the clock with Gesso. Let dry overnight. Paint the base again using Evergreen Bough Distress Paint. Let dry, repeat. When paint is completely dry, ink the Embrace Time Background stamp with Coffee Archival Ink and randomly stamp the base. Let dry. Seal with Studio Multi Matte Medium Gel. Let Dry.
Cut out the circle sentiment, tickets and stamps from the paper collection. Use Matte Multi Medium to glue the sentiment to the center of the clock base. Use the Spellbinder’s circle die to cut the large Roman Numeral clock face from the card front in the paper collection. Sponge the front with Vintage Photo, Picked Raspberries and Evergreen Bough Distress Ink. Use a light hand. Spritz it with water and gently crumple it. Dry with a heat tool, and gently unfold. Ink with Vintage photo Distress Ink to highlight the creases. Fold in half side to side and top to bottom and open. Carefully cut from the XII numeral to the center of the circle. Use a standard hole punch to punch a 1/4” circle in the center. Cover the back of the clock with Matte Multi Medium and carefully slide onto the clock face. Coat the face of the clock with Distress Rock Candy Crackle Paint and let dry. Tap the hands of the clock with Evergreen Bough Distress Paint and let Dry. Tap Evergreen Bough Distress Paint over the gold accents on the clock to give it an aged look. Let dry.
Stamp, emboss, die cut, shape and stack all the flowers and arrange on the clock, securing with hot glue. Glue the two tickets back to back and display in the clock with the Tim Holtz memory pin. Add the decorative stamps, securing with hot glue. Add rhinestones to flower centers.
