Heartfelt Creations Wednesday

Hello all you fabulous paper lovers!  It’s time for another edition of Heartfelt Creations Wednesday!  Today we are introducing the  “Once Upon a Time” collection.  I have to tell you, this collection has stolen my heart!  It is filled with gorgeous papers, vintage time pieces and an amazing new die.  Here are the official release notes From Heartfelt Creations:

“We all agree that time is precious, so we are pleased to invite you to celebrate the memorable moments in your life with the debut of the Once Upon a Time Collection on March 12th at midnight EST.   Deep shades of copper, teal and rose are complimented by neutrals in cream, grey, and beige all artfully layered with sumptuous images of time pieces, clock faces, florals, flourishes and script backgrounds.  Detailed stamps feature clocks, sentiments and collaged images designed to coordinate with the Once Upon a Time die which saves you precious time by cutting 12 clock faces or circle sentiments with one pass through your die cutting machine. You will reach for the timeless images of this versatile collection for special occasions and everyday moments alike.”

Each designer on the HC team will be featuring this versatile collection on her blog today, so be sure to pay each one a visit and prepare to be inspired!  You will also find dozens of tutorials using “Once Upon a Time” on the Heartfelt Creations blog, so be sure not to miss out on that visual feast!

All my life, I’ve loved old clocks, so this collection is truly right up my alley.  I made this Time to Get Well card with “Once Upon a Time”.

I made loads and loads of vintage rolled roses for this card, and added some pretty pearl bling, too!

If you’ve followed my blog for a while, you know I’m a huge fan of the cracked glass technique, which I used on these clock faces to make them look old.  If you are not familiar with this technique, you can find a tutorial for it HERE.

Don’t you just love all these clocks?

I did a lot of paper tearing and distressing to add to the vintage vibe.

The inside of the card has the same image stamped inside and is layered with papers and journaling card so it’s ready to write a little feel better note.

Create a 5″ x 7″ left hand fold card base from the kraft cardstock. Cut a 4 7/8″ x 6 7/8″ rectangle of pink cardstock.  Cut a 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ rectangle of patterned paper from the collection.  Use a decorative stitch to sew onto pink cardstock. Run a band of 1 1/2″ wide pink ribbon around the center of this panel, securing to the back with tape.  Glue to card base.

Stamp the Timeless Clock PreCut Set onto pink cardstock using the Dark Brown chalk ink.  Emboss with clear powder.  Place the die over the design, and back it with your embossing pad.  Run through die cut machine.  Lightly sponge the debossed areas with Vintage Photo Ink. Tear around the edges of the stamped design.  Ink the edges heavily with Vintage Photo ink. Mat with a slightly larger piece of pink cardstock.  Stamp the image onto pink paper a second time, and die cut the clock images from the paper. Use Versamark and UTEE to emboss the die cut clocks to give the faces the appearance of glass. Gently bend the images to crack the glass. Add game spinner hands to one or two of the clocks.  Leave the other 3 clocks as they are.  Attach the clock faces to the stamped panel with foam adhesive, then place foam adhesive in the four corners of the finished card panel and attach to the card base. Tie the 1/8″ wide pink and brown ribbon up the left hand side of the card.  Add a triple loop bow.  Use copper thread to create a looped bow for the center of the button and attach to the pink bow with a glue gun. Die cut one Spiral Blossom from natural parchment paper and 2 sets of the bitty blossoms from pink and natural parchment cardstock.  Shape and roll, securing with glue gun. Sponge with Vintage Photo Ink and spray liberally with gold mist.   Die cut 4 sets of the leaves from the gift ensemble out of natural parchment paper.  Sponge with Peeled Paint Distress Ink and spray with gold mist.  Arrange the leaves, roses and pearls on the card as shown. Emboss the sentiment ticket with Versamark and UTEE,gently bend to crack the finish,  back with pink cardstock and add to the card.

For the interior: Stamp the Timeless Clocks.  Tear a strip of the patterned paper, ink the edges and add to the left hand side of the stamped images.  Cut the journal card from the collection, ink the edges and place at an angle in the center of the card.  Add the die cut leaves in the top and bottom corners.

Such a sight of wealth to greet my day. I love each soft petal and all the marriage between subtle change with colors and texture. The strict force of time made gentle by a velvet touch. Beautiful.
