Apple Picking Birthday Card Folio

Really Reasonable Ribbon August Blog Hop: Apple Picking Birthday Card Folio

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Welcome to the RRR August Blog Hop.  You should be coming here  from Karen’s lovely blog.  Today we’re featuring the gorgeous Autumn Assortment from the RRR Ribbon Club.  I’ve created a vintage style Apple Picking Birthday Card Folio that celebrates the beauty of my favorite season.  Take a peek:

Crimson and gold are the colors of fall, so I decided to enhance this lovely apple picking birthday card folio with a Sherry Checkerboard Satin Bow.  I love its soft texture, pattern and sheen.

Ribbon makes a great belly band on any card.  The belly band on this 5″ x 7″ top fold card is made by adhering rows of Sherry Diamond Satin Ribbon, 3/8″ Autumn Diamond Print Grosgrain Ribbon, and 3/8″ Autumn Flowers Grosgrain Ribbon to the card base with 1/4″ Scor-Tape.

Natural burlap string and gorgeous Little Birdie Flowers from their fall assortment add texture and vintage style to the card.

Apple Picking Birthday Card Folio: A Peek Inside

Ribbon looks great inside a card, too!  I’ve added a tiny bit to the honey stick in the top pocket.  And the slash pocket is edged with 3/8″ Leaves on Turftan Brown Grosgrain Ribbon.

The lower pocket holds a little 3.5″ x 5.5″ photo folio.  To create the closure, adhere 1/4″ Scor-Tape to the back side of the folio.  Then wrap more of the pretty Autumn Leaves Grosgrain Ribbon around the front and tie a bow.  Easy, peasy…but so pretty!

I used a scrap of yellow cardstock to create this little flap folio.  The first flap is a pocket that is just wide enough to hold a gift card.

Here’s a peek at the folio fully opened.  I tucked one of the lovely cardstock components from Authentique’s Pleasant Collection Kit  here.  (All the papers in this project are from that collection.)

Oh, and just to tempt you, here’s a look at this month’s glorious Ribbon Club Assortment.

Although this is called the Autumn Assortment, I think it’s a very versatile collection! I used this ribbon on a lovely summer themed card HERE.

Let’s Hop!

Now hop on over and see what my sweet and talented teammate Linsey has in store for you.  She always has the BEST ideas for using the ribbon club assortment.

Then be sure to hop on over to the RRR BLOG to answer Bonnie’s question of the month.  Your name will be entered into a random drawing to receive your very own Autumn Ribbon Club Assortment.

If you’d like to join the Ribbon Club, you can find the sign up information HERE.

This is a fabulous project. So colorful and for some reason it reminds me of when I was little. I think it’s the graphics on the front. I do love fall colors.

    Hello Kathy,

Another beautiful project!! Where do all the ideas come from? My RRR arrived last week. Always love your ideas on how to use the ribbon. I am practicing with my Bow it All and I am getting the hang of it. I love all of your videos on UTube. Thank you for boosting my paper crafting up many notches.

    Many Blessings,

Great use of the ribbons, Kathy, with your great folds and pockets. Like this paper set…it has lovely pieces to use as ephemera cards and such. The sunflower “family photos” addition is delightful. Thanks for sharing this lovely autumn card, perfect for this ribbon set.
