Authentique Hooray Birthday Chorus Slimline Card for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends!  Can you hear the piping voices of the sweet children on this Authentique Hooray Birthday Chorus Slimline Card?  The retro red and aqua color palette of this card is certainly music to my ears.  How about you? Especially the pops of red from Really Reasonable Ribbon’s January Ribbon Club Assortment!

Because slimline cards measure 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ , I had plenty of room for the birthday chorus.  To fussy cut them from Hooray 1, leave a straight line along the bottom edge, but trim around the top and sides.  Then pop them up on foam tape or other dimensionals to really make them stand out.

One of my favorite ribbon tricks is to create a layered border from ribbon. This time, layer Random Hearts Red Grosgrain ribbon over Poppy Red Satin with a grosgrain edge behind the Birthday Chorus.  This draws the eye to the black and white focal image and helps it to pop off the page.  Tie everything together with Random Hearts Grosgrain Bows in the corners.

Carry out the red and aqua theme with Aqua Baker’s Twine bows, flowers and butterflies.  And what’s a birthday without a little cake?  This silver tone cake charm finishes everything off perfectly!

A Peek Inside

Here’s a peek at the inside of this festive card.  Lots of room to write happy birthday wishes!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy

Spanky and our Gang is all here to celebrate. Of course Alfalfa and Darla are in the front of the line and Spanky is smiling with anticipation…

Very festive pairing of 1950s colors! Love the tails up bows…adding the bakers twine was a great detail that brought a smile for me. Any version of red, white and blue looks great! Nice birthday card!

Hi Kathy ~ This is the most precious card! Isn’t is great what we can do with the space of a slimline card! You’ve hit this one out of the park but you always do! I’ll have to second, or third, on the color combination of red and aqua! I’d have never thought to combine the two! Fantastic! Have a wonderful week my crafty friend!
