Authentique Group Share: Romantic Happy Valentines Day Banner
Hello, Friends! Happy Valentine’s Day! Today I’m sharing a Romantic Happy Valentines Day Banner as part of the Authentique Design Team Group Share. Naturally, I am working with the Romance collection, no surprise there! But you will definitely want to pop over to the Authentique Blog to see what the rest of the team is sharing!
You already know how much I love a good banner. And I’m always looking for ways to make them faster and easier. I have some great tips that I think you will enjoy using the next time the urge to make a banner strikes.
Romantic Happy Valentine’s Day Banner: Build a Better Banner
I found a big pile of Graphic 45 Alpha Tags and ATC Alpha Tags while purging some bins in my studio. These tags serve as the base for my banner pennants. The great thing is, you can cover these tags in a jiffy using the G45 Tags Dies (regular tag and gears/ATC tag) which really cuts down on the amount of time it takes to make a banner.
Design each pennant so that the domed edge of the tag is at the BOTTOM rather than at the top. Cover both sides with your designer paper, then stitch onto a length of complementary ribbon.
TIP: Stitch along the top of each tag, then go back and stitch a second time along the bottom edge of your ribbon. This ensures that the banner will hang nicely.
TIP: Place one large pennant/tag between 2 ATC sized pennants/tags. This variation lends a lot of visual interest to a banner.
TIP: Cover the ATC tags with papers from the 6×6 Paper Bundle. The small size of these tags calls for a small sized pattern.
TIP: Keep the design for each tag consistent for quick crafting. I have a designer paper layer, a smaller square of the heart patterned paper, a die cut doily and a focal image on each large pennant. Add foam spacers between the doily layer and the square layer to add extra dimension.
TIP: I love the freshness that the white flowers add to the design of this banner. And the shimmer satin ribbon adds some glam.
