You already know how much I love a good banner.  And I’m always looking for ways to make them faster and easier.  I have some great tips that I think you will enjoy using the next time the urge to make a banner strikes.

Romantic Happy Valentine’s Day Banner: Build a Better Banner

I found a big pile of Graphic 45 Alpha Tags and ATC Alpha Tags while purging some bins in my studio.  These tags serve as the base for my banner pennants.  The great thing is, you can cover these tags in a jiffy using the G45 Tags Dies (regular tag and gears/ATC tag) which really cuts down on the amount of time it takes to make a banner.

Design each pennant so that the domed edge of the tag is at the BOTTOM rather than at the top.  Cover both sides with your designer paper, then stitch onto a length of complementary ribbon.

TIP: Stitch along the top of each tag, then go back and stitch a second time along the bottom edge of your ribbon.  This ensures that the banner will hang nicely.

TIP: Place one large pennant/tag between 2 ATC sized pennants/tags.  This variation lends a lot of visual interest to a banner.

TIP: Cover the ATC tags with papers from the 6×6 Paper Bundle.  The small size of these tags calls for a small sized pattern.

TIP: I love the freshness that the white flowers add to the design of this banner.  And the shimmer satin ribbon adds some glam.
