Authentique Shamrock Saint Patrick’s Day Home Decor: Lucky Banner and Wallhangings
Hello, Friends! Do you decorate your home for Saint Patrick’s Day? My grandgirls loooove the holiday, because each year a “leprechaun” visits them and commits all kinds of shenanigans! These Authentique Shamrock Saint Patrick’s Day Home Decor ideas should add to the fun.
Authentique Shamrock Saint Patrick’s Day Home Decor: Lucky Banner
Banners are such a fun way to decorate your home for the holidays. They are festive, fun to display and pretty easy to make, too. This Lucky Banner is made with Authentique’s Shamrock paper collection and Emerald Collection Stickers. It measures about 3 feet from end to end. Isn’t it just gloriously green?
While I love to make banners, they are so hard to photograph. I made a super short video so that you can see the details better.
Look at that dapper Leprechaun! The large pennants are 3.5″ wide x 4.5″ tall. There are 3 of these, interspersed with smaller 2″ x 3″ pennants.
I used a banner die to cut dark green cardstock. Next, I matted the die cut pennant on a larger piece of lighter green cardstock. Then I hand cut the patterned papers to fit the pennant base. Finally, I stitched the focal image to the pennant on my sewing machine. To embellish, I used hand made rosettes, vintage buttons, white paper flowers and ivory burlap string. The pennants are attached to the ribbon with mini clothespins.
I’ve added sentiment stickers and metal keys.
These small banner sentiments and images are from the sticker sheet. Aren’t they great?
Banners are always a great way to decorate!
Authentique Shamrock Saint Patrick’s Day Home Decor: Irish Lass and Irish Lad Shaped Wall Hangings
While you are decorating, why not add some smaller wall hangings to the mix? These 6″ x 6″ shaped chipboard cards are made with retired Crafty Secrets Sweet Chips. I did a quick internet search for them, and found you can still get them on EBay. You might also be able to find a similar SVG cut file online as well.
I’ve suspended the cards from a small vintage style wire hanger for easy display. Lace, vintage buttons, Little Birdie Renae flowers and collection stickers have this card ready to River Dance!
The pockets are filled with little tags and stickers from the collection. Detach the mini hanger to open the card.
I love the sentiments in this collection!
To make this mini file folder, I added the sticker to a piece of cardstock that was twice its height. Then I trimmed around it and added papers to the inside. This would be a great place for the leprechauns to leave a little treat!
Of course, I had to make one for an Irish Lad, too!
These cards take “the wearin’ of the green” to a whole new level!
As always, these items are available for purchase in my ETSY shop.
I hope I’ve shared some tips, tricks and ideas that will help you get ready for Saint Patrick’s Day. If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.
Thanks for stopping by!
