Really Reasonable Ribbon August Ribbon Club Collection: Autumn Hues Tag Pocket Greeting Card
Hello, Ribbon Lovers! Summer is winding down here in North Carolina. While the afternoons are still quite hot, there’s a lovely coolness in the early morning and evening hours. The days are getting shorter, too. These subtle changes inspired me to create this Autumn Hues Tag Pocket Greeting Card. My RRR Autumn Harvest Ribbon Club Assortment arrived in my mailbox just in time for me to make this pretty card/tag combo!
Usually, I put my pockets on the insides of my cards. But change is good for the soul. So, this time around I created a fun tag pocket on the front of a tall, skinny kraft card base.
This side fold card measures 4.25″ wide x 7″ tall. I tore a piece of Kaisercraft Golden Grove designer paper to create this rustic looking pocket. Moss/Cream 5/8″ wide plaid ribbon looks amazing with this paper collection!
The tag fits right inside, which is fun change of pace. I topped the tag with Moss/Cream Plaid ribbon and Ivory Crochet Lace. The flower cluster features a WOC Mixed Earth Tones Chrysanthemum and Cosmos. I sponged on some Wild Honey and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Inks to increase the golden tones in the flowers.
Autumn Hues Tag Pocket Greeting Card: A Peek Inside
I have as much fun decorating the insides of my cards as I do the outside. Often, I will layer up scraps of designer paper to create a sort of collage effect as I did here.
This gift card pocket is tied shut with 3/8″ Moss/Cream Plaid Ribbon.
Use scraps of paper to create little pockets inside the 3″ square folio. Each pocket holds a little tag or journal spot. You could also add small treats or a gift card to each pocket.
How much fun will it be for the recipient of this card to open each section and find a yummy chocolate treat inside? I just love interactive elements in cards!
Are you ready for fall? It’s my favorite season of the year. While I get a little sad at the fact that the days are getting shorter, the promise of golden leaves, bright blue skies and cool, crisp air fills me with anticipation.
I hope I’ve shared some tips and tricks that you can use in your own crafty adventures. If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,
kathy

Hi Kathy such beautiful colours of autumn . Summer in the UK has been rather dire for want of a better word. Really want some warmer days before autumn. Love your card, little surprises inside all capture the imagination. Such a lovely card full of inspiration. Xx
Oh dear, just wrote a nice long comment and it seems that Blogger has whisked it off to parts unknown! Love this nod to cooler days ahead with the bold yellows and soft browns! Great details about, Kathy! I never tire of all these pockets, tags and tucks! The gingham ribbon compliments these gorgeous papers perfectly and you have woven your magic with the great design on this clever card/gift! Cooler here today, but rainy and humid. At least it’s not steamy as it has been for the past week or so! Sending hugs!
Another awesome project! So beautiful!
