Because of the Brave Patriotic Card for The Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog Hop

Hello, Friends!  This Because of the Brave Patriotic Card is my inspiration piece for the Really Reasonable Ribbon May 2024 Blog Hop.  Welcome to the hop!  You should be coming here from Gloria’s lovely blog.

Our theme this month is Patriotic Ribbon.  I’m always more than happy to pull out my red, white and blue papers, trims and flowers.  It seems like anything I make in this color palette turns out well.  Let’s take a closer look at this card, shall we?

Red, White and Blue Ribbons, Trims and Flowers

I dressed this 5″ x 7″ top fold card up with lots of pretty ribbons, trims and flowers from the RRR shop.  Light Navy Checkerboard Satin Ribbon (links are below this post) adds elegance and shimmer to my mulberry flower cluster.  Airmail Baker’s twine is the perfect addition, adding texture and reinforcing the color palette.

TIP: Use mulberry flowers in different shapes, sizes and colors to create a lovely floral arrangement on your card.  And don’t forget the mulberry leaves!  You can find links to all these beautiful posies in the supply list below this post.

A Peek Inside

Carry the patriotic theme inside the card with more stars and stripes.  Break up the bold patterns with just a touch of the petite floral cluster patterned paper.

Change things up by adding a pocket on the TOP of the card.  Then mat a panel of off white cardstock on blue, trim out with paper scraps, add a sticker and tuck inside the pocket.  This creates plenty of room to add a personal note, a photo, and even a gift card.

On With the Hop!

Did I forget to mention that you can win a great prize just for hopping along and getting inspired?  Simply visit the blogs in the hop, then finish up over on the RRR Blog.  Answer Bonnie’s Question of the Month and you’re eligible to win a $10 gift certificate to RRR and the digital stamp set of your choice from Bonnie’s shop.

Now hop on over and see what paper pretties the lovely Cheryl has in store for you.

Three cheers for the red, white and blue, y’all!  Enjoy the hop!

Cheerio,

Hi, Rosemary! I am not very tech savvy, but I did a quick internet search and found this: “confirm that your email clients are set to allow images to load. Many email clients block image loading by default.” I am able to see the photos on my end, and I asked my hubby to check to see if he can see photos on his end, and he can. So an recent update on your phone, tablet or desktop may have changed your settings, blocking the images. None of my other followers have mentioned a problem with this, so I think maybe it is on your end. I wish I knew better how to help.

Oh, yes! Bring on the RW&B!! Love this card, Kathy! My eyes are immediately drawn to that red stripe ticking fabric behind the buttons…wonderful design decision. Love the baker’s twine against that striking blue ribbon…beautiful!! Dangle charms are the perfect choice. Will be adding this paper collection one of these days…has a vintage look that I enjoy. Granddaughter #2 is graduating high school…known as The Patriots…colors are, of course, RW&B. YES!
