Bedtime Kids Birthday Card

Bedtime Kids Birthday Card for Crafty Secrets

Hello, Friends!

I have another cute sample to share with you today using the Crafty Secrets Bedtime Kids Jumbo Digital Stamp Set.  This one is a Bedtime Kids Birthday Card.

This 6″ square top fold card uses CS_Bedtime Kids_01 and the digital paper that comes with the kit.  The image was colored with water color pencils and a detail water brush.  I used smooth blending cardstock, and then heat set the image for a minute before I started painting.  I work with a paper towel nearby, so I can pick up excess moisture that might cause the ink to run, but this is rarely a problem if you heat set the ink first.  When I use my water color pencils, I brush my paintbrush against the tip of the pencil to pick up color, and then I lay it down.  A little bit goes a long way, as you are blending out the color with water as you go along.  This allows you to create lots of shading.  I’m just learning how to do this, and have a long way to go, but I do enjoy it, and I like the results.

My bright, shining moon is one of the colorized images from the digital set.  I die cut it with one of my grand Nestabilities dies, and then tapped it with Viva Decor Gold 3-D Stamp paint.  You can’t see it in the photo as much, but in person, it has a lovely soft sheen, just like moonlight.

My wide organdy ribbon is topped with a sweetheart blossom in baby pink and a little string bow. I added a little extra texture with some eyelash yarn that was in my stash…because I couldn’t find my cheesecloth!  That’s what I get for tidying up!

The inside of the card uses more of the digital paper that comes in the download along with another of the cute ticket sentiments.  Sweet and simple!  Just like these adorable Bedtime Kids stamps!

Thanks for stopping by!

You’ve excelled yourself on this one Kathy. I’d have loved to have got this on my birthday. It’s so different and so, kind of, memory invoking. It takes my heart back to being a young girl and makes me feel ‘little’ again.
Beautiful Kathy. Very well done. ~ Cobs. x

Great job for just learning how to use water colour pencils. You have to be so careful not to use too much water, I am learning every day. My paper was just a mess by the time I got through my first try. You have done it again Kathy, great work. Love the little ones! I must get out my pencils again and practice, practice, practice.
