Bees and Butterflies Shaker Tag Album Tutorial

Paper Rose Bees and Butterflies Shaker Tag Album Tutorial for Wonderful Wednesday

Hello, Friends!  We have a truly Wonderful Wednesday on tap today with a Paper Rose Bees and Butterflies Shaker Tag Album Tutorial to share with you.  Putting this design together for you was so much fun!  Busy Bees, flirty butterflies, cheery floral designs and an invigorating color palette of gold and green really got my creativity buzzing!

The album base is made with my Kathy by Design Shaker Tag Dies from Button Farm Club.  If you are subscribed to my Quarterly Card Kit, you probably have these in your stash.  But if you don’t, you can substitute any 4 1/4″ x 6 1/4″ tag in its place, or  you can order the dies from Button Farm Club (linked below.)

Lots and Lots of Great Tips and Techniques

While I was editing the video, I realized just how many techniques are packed into today’s tutorial:

  • How to create a tabbed spine
  • Using dies to create a shaker frame
  • Quick and easy slash pocket
  • Clever die placement for a BOGO shaker frame design
  • Triple pockets
  • Simplified Kinetic Waterfall with a neat trick that makes it glide like silk
  • No fail magnet placement
  • How to fix a boo-boo

That’s a whole lot of content!  What can I say?  I like to give you a lot of bang for your buck!

Beautiful Bees

The bee images in this paper collection are just gorgeous.  If you are a bee lover, like I am, I think you will really enjoy seeing all the many ways that bees are represented in this album.

Isn’t it amazing how a simple tweak to a mechanism can make it sooo much easier to make?  I’m excited to share this simplified kinetic waterfall design with you!

One of the things I like the best about this album design is the fact that you can make it start to finish in a day.  Keep a supply of them on hand, made up with a bunch of different themes and papers and you’ll always have a lovely little gift on hand.

OMGoodness This is the sweetest little album I think I have ever seen! The colors are sunshine and make me smile! I have been absent for much longer than I expected as I struggled with some health challenges but came here today to find this delightful tag album! I ❤️ everything about this little gem and your idea to add tape to make waterfall glide smoothly is so easy but so smart! Thank you for sharing it with us! I plan to be back again on a regular basis and look forward to catching up on some back projects and looking forward to seeing your next ideas. I really adore this tag album!’

Oh this is so sweet Kathy. I enjoyed the video and also the hints along the way as I wondered why the glue gun was slow to go so to speak and have filled it up again, problem solved. The colours of your project reflect our bright sunny days at the moment, the layers and interactive sections are bang on. Will try your amended waterfall technique, you make it look so easy!

I love your mini tag album! All the cool features! I may try your design for a vintage strawberry paper kit project I have in mind. Thanks for your tutorial and ideas.

Having purchased many of Kathy’s creations, I can tell you pictures don’t do them justice. This one is awesome! Had no idea Kathy had her own dies.
