Birthday Bicycle Card with Crafty Secrets Creating with Vintage Typography CD
Hello, Friends! I have such a fun card to share with you today! It seems I never have enough birthday cards, no matter how many I make. So I recently went to work making some with my Crafty Secrets Creating with Vintage Typography CD, and pretty papers from our Jumbo Halloween download. Yes, you read correctly… I used Halloween papers to make this pretty spring birthday card! Take a look:
The “Star Rider” image is from the Typography CD, and prints out in black and white. I love that vintage high wheeler bicycle, and just colored it in with some chalks and inked the edges. The soft green check paper is from the Halloween download, and I had just a snippet of paper leftover from a Thanksgiving project that I used to mount my rosette “wheels” on. I added some fun gears and game spinners to the painted and distressed rosettes, then wrapped jute string around them for a fun, industrial look. A perky little bow made with black micro gingham finished the card off nicely. Here’s a peeky at the inside:
I journaled the (slightly corny) sentiment on the computer and layered it with more papers, a torn piece of washi tape, and a fun industrial clock from the Typography CD. Easy Peasy! It’s perfect for the bike enthusiast in your home.
Thanks for stopping by!
Cheerio,

Cute card Kathy. Love the vintage bicycle image and that sweet checked paper. Who would have thought that came from a Halloween set. Thanks for sharing.
love the cross between vintage and whimsical with the fun sentiment!
So beautiful, fabulous designs.
Love the vintage image on this card! You’re so creative using papers, tape, & digital in such imaginative ways! What a darling birthday card – love your use of puns too…word play is such fun!
You did it again, Kathy! Gave me an idea for my husband’s anniversary card. He takes used bikes that are donated to us and restores/repairs them, and we give them to the less fortunate free of charge. He is amazing what he can do! Thanks again!
Just back from Wales to find your brilliant card. I lived the sentiment xxxjen
