Carta Bella Christmas Market Shaker Card Folio

Hello, Friends! This Carta Bella Christmas Market Shaker Card Folio is a great way to start off the month of December.  Wait…is it really December already?  That’s what the calendar says, so it’s time to get our Christmas crafting on for reals!  So let’s roll out the buffalo plaid, glitter and glam!

Christmas Market is such a happy collection!  I’ve used it to make some of the merriest Christmas projects this year!  This 5″ x 7″ shaker top card has all the things I love about Christmas crafting: plaid on plaid (does it get any better than that?) sparkly shaker elements, a festive banner, and cheery red flowers.

The base for the shaker box is a Spellbinders Nestablilities Oval Majesty Die.  I’ve filled it with a chipboard Christmas Tree and some pretty new Desert Sky Shimmerz shaker elements from Buttons Galore and More.

TIP: To make the MERRY banner, follow these easy steps:

  • First, mat the stickers on scraps of green cardstock, then trim out.
  • Next, back the stickers with foam dimensionals.
  • Always start with the middle letter of a banner, then build out to each side.  This will keep things symmetrical and balanced.
  • Top the pennants with shimmery stars and pearls from the shaker collection.
  • Finally tie small bows and adhere in the corners.
Christmas Market Shaker Card Folio: A Peek Inside

Build a box pocket inside the card, then fill it with lots of fun goodies.  Attach a mini candy cane with a bit of buffalo plaid washi tape, just for fun.

Use a We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board to make a custom treat envelope.  I actually made 2 envelopes: One for the honey packet, and one for the other goodies.

These little card folios are such a fun gift at the holidays.  They are perfect for Secret Santa, hostess gifts,  or office exchange parties,  It’s a great way to give something handmade and personal.

I hope I shared some tips, tricks and ideas you can use in your next crafty adventure.  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment box below.  If you’d like to see more Christmas Market projects click HERE.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

Great way to start December crafting, Kathy. That shaker/banner combo on the front of the folio is a holiday winner. Thanks for sharing this project, especially the tips for creating the banner. Hope to finally get to some holiday crafting this weekend now that my relocated craft room is operational! Happy December!

I think this is my favorite so far this Christmas season. Love the plaid…personal fav of mine…and nice balance to the placement of the embellishments…very appealing to the eye. I could spend the next year just using your cards as inspiration, using my own stash of papers, etc. Thanks so much for sharing!

SO this one is my favourite so far. Love the banner “merry” on the front cover and the flowers look so soft. The little box holding goodies is cute too. Your work is art.
Sorry you have been under the weather Kathy, hope you are feeling tons better by now.

Kathy, what a darling and festive Christmas card! I love the Christmas tree in the shaker window and oh my, those flowers are gorgeous! The banner is beautiful and your tip on how you made it is greatly appreciated! I really like the technique you used. I’m loving the plaid papers as well. Was there ever a Christmas that at least one present wasn’t wrapped in a pretty plaid paper? Thank you for sharing! Hugs!

Gena has written all the words I’m thinking as I look at this delightful Christmas card. that vintage red truck is such a popular image this season! Adding a rolled rose to the center of a poinsettia makes for a really interesting flower…definitely will give this one a try this season. Love the addition of the miniature candy cane! Perfect edible embellishment! As I’m catching up with emails, I’m listening to an all Christmas radio station (Little Drummer Boy is on) and enjoying a mini candy cane dissolved into a cup of hot coffee…yummy! Bring on Christmas! After finishing a major personal project, I’m ready for some holiday retail therapy! Tomorrow I’m heading south to the one, and only, Hobby Lobby in the Portland, OR area. It’s time for some of that hustle and bustle and the joys of hearing holiday music floating above all the beautiful Christmas goodies!! I’m, also, going to search around for Christmas tea bags…haven’t seen any in my WA area. I may have to settle for just red or green packaging. Whatever works!
