Carta Bella Home Again Long and Skinny Birthday Card: A Party in a Box for Throwback Thursday

Hello, Friends!  This Carta Bella Home Again Long and Skinny Birthday Card is another fun little Throwback Thursday project.  Since we are all finding ourselves “home again” I thought it would be appropriate!  (Humor is good at times like these!)  I made this card for my sweet sister-in-law’s birthday this month, and I just love the way it turned out.  The design is almost identical to the Little Birdie Celebrate Life card that I shared with you earlier.  So you can just follow that video tutorial on YouTube and substitute your Home Again papers.

One of the things I love about this card design is that the small panels on the front allow you to use up your scraps.

Box style cards really are the trifecta of cardmaking: a card, a gift and home decor all in one neat and tidy package.  This would look so cute on display in a kitchen or breakfast nook!

Take the time to “wrap” the goodies you tuck inside with additional scraps of your designer paper.  This card holds a tea bag, cookies, Dove Chocolates and a Ginger and Honey crystals packet.

I continue to pray for health, peace, calm and joy for each one of you daily.  We will get through this together!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy

I’m sure your sister in law was quite happy to receive this card/gift/home decor piece! Such a perfect way to use those tiny utensils! Great design, Kathy and filled to the brim with special treats! You have inspired me to try and make one of these for each of my family members away from home. Looks like there’s going to be plenty of time for crafting!

Simply delightful, Kathy. This resurgence of skinny cards offers many possibilities, like using scraps as you did. The pocket box added to this type of card just increases the space for goodies…yay! The theme of your card has me wondering how many kinds of homemade goodies might be tucked inside. I’m going to start a list of possibilities so that, when I make this design, I’ll have a bunch from which to select. Wishing you and your blog readers safe and healthy vibes – hugs.

All you need is apple pie 🙂 Really great project, like the box style card, and of course you stuff it with yummy things. Stay well my friend and be good to yourself.

Well you know I just love this collection, Kathy! And what a sweet birthday card you’ve made. I do like the long skinny cards and how you’ve used the different papers in the panels across the front. What a great way to use the scraps and show a lot of the pretty designs all at once. This is just an awesome idea. The decorative elements are beautiful and just perfect for a birthday card. Thank you for sharing! Hugs!
