Carta Bella Home Again Shaker Card: Let Them Eat Cake!

Hello, Friends!  This Carta Bella Home Again Shaker card is sweet and simple, just like a good homemade cake!  The 5″ x 6 3/4″ top fold card base is made with an off cut from the Carta Bella Home Again Envelope Flip Book that I shared with you yesterday.

Die cut frames work really well as shaker elements.  Simply back the solid portion of the frame with clear cardstock, add a few layers of 1/8″ foam strips and you have a wonderful shaker frame.

The image inside the frame is a 3″ x 4″ journaling card that I topped with a chipboard piece from the Home Again collection.  Add a few small pearl buttons to the shaker mix and the card is basically done. Just add some soft white Petaloo flowers (retired) and some Bay Leaf Seam Binding and you are good to go.

Carta Bella Home Again Shaker Card: A Peek Inside

The inside is sweet and simple as well. Dress up the die cut sentiment panel with a sticker and scrap of designer paper.

Add gussets to a 3″ x 4″ journal card to turn it into a pocket.  Tuck in a tea bag, chocolate (color matched, of course!) and a little tag to complete the card.

I wish I had this jade cake plate in my stash!  It takes me right back to my grandmother’s kitchen.  She had a small collection of jade cups and bowls. I think they came as a bonus  in boxes of laundry detergent, if you can believe that!  They’d be worth a small fortune now.

I hope I shared some tips, tricks and ideas you can use in your next crafty adventure!  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy

Lovely card. The cake stand, yes, jadeite was in everybody’s kitchen, I think we had a couple mugs. We had the T.G. Green, you know the ones with the blue strips. There were also yellow strips and I believe red, unless those are repops.
I like the colours of these papers. Really nice work!

Love this card Kathy. Another beauty. Not sure what you mean by clear cardstock do you mean acetate?
