CAS Travel Girl Birthday Card

CAS Travel Girl Birthday Card

Hello, Friends!  Don’t faint!  Today’s card is a CAS Travel Girl Birthday card that I made for our daughter. Clean and simple (CAS) cards are my Waterloo.  I have such a hard time restraining myself from loading a card up with all kinds of layers and embellies.  But since I believe a card’s style should reflect the preferences of the one receiving it, every once in a while, I have to pull one out of my hat.

Our adventure loving daughter really is a travel girl.  She loves to see, do and explore. This retired paper collection from October afternoon was “just the ticket” for her birthday celebration.  (See what I did there?  Bad pun…sorry!)

Our daughter is also a “no frills” kind of gal.  She likes clean design and despises clutter.  So I kept this card pretty clean and simple.  The card did not quite look finished to me until I added this double layer bow made with Topaz Delicate Stitched Satin and Metal Gray Satin Swiss Mini Dot ribbons.  The little binder clip, vintage style button and passport charm were the perfect finishing elements.

I hope I’ve shared some tips and tricks that you can use in your own crafty adventures.  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.

Thanks for stopping by!  Happy New Year!

Cheerio,

kathy

Kathy, what a delightful card! The little touches–tickets, “do not disturb” mouse etc.–are perfect. I know I’ll be adapting it for my niece and her husband who love to travel…as they prepare to relocate. The theme and design offer so many possibilities. tfs

Fabulous card, Kathy!! I hear ya on the CAS…it’s so difficult creating with die cuts so that they remain the focal point. LOL! Your daughter will love this card. You do CAS as beautifully as all the other styles!

Delightful card, Kathy. . .and great timing for me to see what you did here. My niece and her husband are always on the go. To add to that, they will be moving soon so this card offers a great design for sending them on their way. You always keep me going with great ideas for cards. Thanks!
