613 Avenue Create CAS Challenge
Hello, Friends! I’m just popping in to share my inspiration piece for the 613 Avenue Create CAS Challenge. CAS, in case you are wondering, stands for “Clean and Simple.” This is the hardest style of card for me to create, as I love layers, embellies, more layers and detail. So I had to scratch my head for a while to come up with an design that fit the definition of CAS. A Clean and Simple card has:
1. One focal image
2. Lots of open space (uncluttered)
3. Limited layers and embellishing
4.) Quick and easy to create
This is almost clean and simple….and honestly, as clean and simple as I ever get!
I created a set of note cards and matching envelopes . I definitely have more than one layer going on here, but there is a lot of open space, just one focal image, and the card is very quick and easy to create. I had the set of 4 cards finished in under an hour, and that includes the time it took me to pull materials. Here’s what I used to make this card:
kraft cardstock cut to 5 1/2″ x 4 1/4″
Stampin’ Up “Hardwood” background stamp
ColorBox “Frost White” Pigment Ink and white superfine embossing Powder
Really Reasonable Ribbon Rose Pink Diamond Satin ribbon
MME Lost and Found “Madison Avenue” paper pack
My Favorite Things Plentiful Petals Die
Paper Blossoms Tool Kit and Moulding Mat
Crafty Secrets Mini Memories Stamp Set
Heartfelt Creations Luggage and Tags Die
Ranger Archival Ink (Rose Madder)
The flower center is cut from a scrap piece of brown corrugate that I salvaged from a cookie container. It was too pretty to toss out! I also lined and stamped the envelopes.
When they were all finished, I put some “shreddy” into a clear cellophane bag, added the note cards and envelopes and tied the top with burlap string. I added a pink ribbon bow and one more flower.
It is NOT easy to photograph an item that is in a cellophane bag, by the way! But now it’s all ready for gifting!
