Authentique Hooray Birthday Chorus Slimline Card for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Hello, Friends!  Can you hear the piping voices of the sweet children on this Authentique Hooray Birthday Chorus Slimline Card?  The retro red and aqua color palette of this card is certainly music to my ears.  How about you? Especially the pops of red from Really Reasonable Ribbon’s January Ribbon Club Assortment!

Because slimline cards measure 8 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ , I had plenty of room for the birthday chorus.  To fussy cut them from Hooray 1, leave a straight line along the bottom edge, but trim around the top and sides.  Then pop them up on foam tape or other dimensionals to really make them stand out.

One of my favorite ribbon tricks is to create a layered border from ribbon. This time, layer Random Hearts Red Grosgrain ribbon over Poppy Red Satin with a grosgrain edge behind the Birthday Chorus.  This draws the eye to the black and white focal image and helps it to pop off the page.  Tie everything together with Random Hearts Grosgrain Bows in the corners.

Carry out the red and aqua theme with Aqua Baker’s Twine bows, flowers and butterflies.  And what’s a birthday without a little cake?  This silver tone cake charm finishes everything off perfectly!

Hello, Friends! Hooray for 2021!  Let’s start this New Year off with a party…a birthday party, that is!  You’re going to be ready for every birthday celebration in 2021 thanks to this cute retro birthday planner album.  Designed by Kathy Clement exclusively for The Button Farm Club, this album is designed with organization and fun in mind.

We’ve used cheerful images and patterns from Authentique Paper’s “Hooray” collection to design a simple, fun and practical album.  Each of the 6 album sections features a calendar page (two months per section) a gift tag/pocket combo (6 gift cards in all) room to add photos, journaling and lists and 2 birthday cards.  (That’s 12 birthday cards in all!)  Cute cards for boys and girls are mixed in with humorous, slightly snarky cards for men and women.

There’s a postage stamp storage wallet and an envelope pocket built into the album design so that you’ll always have everything you need at your fingertips when it’s time to send off a birthday greeting.

The best part is that this sturdy G45 Tag and Pocket album can be used over and over again!  Just fill it up with new cards and tags and you’re ready for the next year and the next year and….you get the idea!

Authentique Hooray Milestone Birthday Card by Kathy Clement Kathy by Design Photo 01

Milestone Birthday Blog Hop Celebrating Ginger Ropp!

Hello, Friends!  Today I’m particpating in a Milestone Birthday Blog Hop for the Queen of Papercrafting, Ginger Ropp!  You should be coming here from Ginny Nemchak’s fabulous blog.

Most of us  know Ginger by her blog and YouTube handle “My Sister’s Scrapper.”  Since Ginger can’t throw a big milestone birthday bash this year, she decided to have a little birthday blog hop and invited me and two of my other favorite creative sisters to participate.  So Annette Green (Annette’s Creative Journey) and Ginny Nemchak (Polly’s Paper Studio) and I are joining forces to make Ginger’s Milestone birthday memorable!

Before we dig in, I just want to sing Ginger’s praises for a moment.  I’ve followed her on YouTube and her blog for a very long time now.  She never fails to inspire me.  Her paper engineering skills are off the charts, and her video tutorials are fabulous.  But more than that, Ginger is an incredibly kind and generous person with a great sense of humor.  I got to meet her :”in real life” at Creativation in 2018, and she’s as warm and real and funny  as I had hoped.  Thanks, Ginger, for all the many ways your friendship has blessed my life!  I truly love and appreciate you!

Authentique Hooray Slightly Snarky Birthday Card

Slightly snarky birthday cards are always fun to make, give and receive.  Today I have a quick and easy 10 minute tutorial that will show you how to make this cute retro style card.

The paper is from Authentique’s Hooray collection.  I love the aqua and red color palette and all the fun little birthday patterns.

Here’s a peek at the inside.  I added a little die cut gift card holder and a wee note card, just for fun.

Video Tutorial

The video tutorial below will show you how to make this fun card.

The Giveaway

I also have a little giveaway over on my YouTube Channel, so you’ll want to be sure to check that out.  To be entered in the random drawing, you must be subscribed to my YouTube channel and leave a comment.  That’s it!   You’ll have to watch the video to find out what I’m giving away!

Now hop on over and see what the birthday girl, Ginger Ropp, has prepared for you.  I know she is doing a giveaway as well!  Hooray for birthdays!

Thanks so much for helping us celebrate Ginger’s birthday!

Hooray! It’s Your Birthday Gift Box

Authentique Hooray Birthday Box Amazing Paper Grace Telephone Vignette Die by Kathy Clement Kathy by Design Photo 01

Authentique Hooray!  It’s Your Birthday Box with APG Telephone Vignette Die

Hello, Friends!  Do you love little boxes?  I have loved them for as long as I can remember, so making this Hooray It’s Your Birthday Box was loads of fun.  My L’il Sis is having a birthday this month, and she loves boxes, too.  This one is filled with lots of little goodies that I think will make her chuckle.  Then, when the goodies are gone she can use the box to store stuff on her work desk.  I love it when a gift just keeps on giving!

Building the Box

Here’s how the box came together:

  • First, cover the lid of an I-Phone box with papers from Authentique’s Hooray Paper Collection.
  • Then, wrap the top edge of the box with washi tape to give it a finished look.
  • Now, adhere some little box feet to the corners.
  • Die cut the Amazing Paper Grace Vignette Telephone from both Spectrum Lady Bug and Hooray patterned papers.  You will need 3 phone bases cut from patterned paper and 2 from the Lady Bug Spectrum paper.
  • Adhere the patterned papers to the Lady Bug papers so that they are slightly offset.  This creates a mat for the base and helps it to pop against the patterned papers.  You will need to cover both the front and back of the phone that is on the back side of the box.
  • Adhere the phones to the box base and fill it up with goodies!

Add ribbon and buttons to the front corners of the box if desired.

A Peek Inside

Fill the box with treats that you know the birthday girl will enjoy. I think my Sis will enjoy the little treats I tucked inside her box.

This shaker tag is so quick to make!

  • First, remove the sticker frame from the sheet and back it with clear cardstock.
  • Trace the outline of the frame onto a piece of patterned paper and trim out.
  • Then add 3 layers of 1/8″ foam strips to the back of the sticker.
  • Fussy cut the sentiment from the 3 x 4 image card.  Save the sassy lady…we’ll use her elsewhere!
  • Mat the fussy cut sentiment on the piece of patterned paper you cut out.
  • Fill the shaker cavity with sequins and beads, then adhere the patterned paper tag over the foam strips.  Press lightly to seal.
  • Trim out the birthday banner from another 3×4 card and adhere.
  • Punch a hole at the top of the tag, add ribbon and a flower.

My sis and I both love tea, so I added this tin of tea to her birthday box along with a little chocolate.  Dressing these little gifts up with designer paper and ribbon really makes them special!

This is a packet of Biscoff cookies to go with the tea.  Create the little birthday wand with a washi tape wrapped popsicle stick and stickers that have been matted on Lady Bug Spectrum Cardstock.

Snarky Birthday Card

The final addition is a little 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ top fold card made with scraps.  I’m crazy for this retro color combination…how about you?

Die cut circles and stars really work with this paper collection.  I can’t wait to give this gift to my sister!

I hope I’ve shared some tips, tricks and ideas you can use in your next crafty adventure.  If so, I’d love to hear from you in the comment section below.
