Happy Blogiversary Giveaway Week 3…and a winner!

This giveaway is now closed.  The winner is Janet Saieva!

Winner of Happy Blogiversary Week 2 winner and Happy Blogiversary Giveaway Week 3

Hello, Friends!  Happy Monday!  I’m just popping in very quickly to reveal the winner of my Happy Blogiversary Week 2 Giveaway…and to reveal the fabulous prize package for my Happy Blogiversary Giveaway Week 3!

I put all your entries into Random.org and #25 was chosen….D.Ann C!

I’ve already contacted D.Ann and will ship her prize package out to her today.

Now…on to Happy Blogiversary Giveaway week 3.  Drumroll, please!

This week I am giving one lucky random winner a complete set of Tammy Tutterow’s fabulous mini envelope dies!  Woo hoo!  These are so stinkin’ cute and fabulous and versatile that I use them all the time.  Here’s a look at what the winner will receive.

The pointed mini envelope die  is just darling!  The die cuts and scores your paper, and the insert die fits perfectly inside the pocket.

The Deco Edge Envelope is perfect for retro and shabby chic and vintage …well, everything, really!

The Notched mini envelope looks amazing with a tassel or brad inserted in the punched opening.

The Window Mini Pocket is loaded with possibilities: shaker envelope, anyone?

And this Notched Mini Envelope has a very cute closure, don’t you agree?

I know you’ve seen these as I’ve used them loads of times in my creations.  They add such a fun element to any layout, mini album or card.  I love them, and I think you will, too.

How to Win

  1. First, you must be a follower of my blog in order to win.  I’m having this Blogiversary Celebration (FOUR years, friends!) to thank all of you for taking this journey with me, so that’s only fair.  To subscribe, just add your e-mail address in the box in the sidebar.
  2. The drawing is open to US and Canadian followers only.  International postage is so terribly expensive that I just can’t afford it.
  3. This week’s question has to do with color.  I am an equal opportunity lover of color…I love and use them ALL!  But I have two favorite color combos: Blues and browns and Pinks and Browns just fill me up with happiness.  So I’d like to know:

What’s your favorite color combo?

This giveaway will remain open until 5PM on Friday, February 3rd.  I’ll announce the winner for week 3 and reveal the prize for the 4th and final giveaway on Saturday, February 4th.  I’ll contact the winner at that time and he/she will have 72 hours to respond with his/her mailing address.  If I haven’t heard back, I’ll choose another winner.

That’s it!

Thanks again for helping me celebrate.

Cheerio,

Happy Blogiversary Number Four and a Giveaway

This giveaway is now closed.  The winner is JELLYBEANERZ!
Happy Blogiversary Number Four…and a Giveaway!

Hello Friends!  I know I’ve been kind of absent this week, but I’ve been busy getting samples ready for CHA in Phoenix (next week) and have hardly had time to come up for air.  All of a sudden today, I realized…this week marks my 4th anniversary on the Kathy by Design blog.  So this is a special Happy Blogiversary Number 4 blog post and a giveaway!  Woo hoo!

I don’t have a fancy project to share with you today…just my humble thanks for being on this journey with me.  I started blogging with the goal of sharing my adventures in paper crafting with anyone who was willing to listen.  LOL  I had no idea how to set up a blog, and had never written a blog post in my life.  So it thrills and amazes me to see that there were people “out there” who would share my passion for paper.

Now, four years down the road, 675 of you have graced me with your company on the journey.  I’ve published over 800 posts!  And, my blog has had close to 300,000 visitors.  9,560 of you have left me lovely comments to cheer me along the way.  I am so blessed and humbled.  I just wanted to say thank you and share a little love with you.

Happy Blogiversary #4 Giveaway WEEK ONE

I decided it would be fun to host a giveaway each week for the next four weeks.  Sound good to you?  So for my Week One Happy Blogiversary Nujmber Four giveaway, I’m offering these fabulous  Waterfall One, Waterfall Two and Pinked Posies dies from Tammy Tutterow.

Many of you know that I have the honor of designing for Tammy.  I had purchased these dies before I joined the team and as much as I love them (and I really, really do love them!) I don’t need two sets of them in my stash.  So I thought I would share the love with you.

Here’s How to Enter

To be eligible to win:

  1.  You MUST be a follower of my blog.  To join, just click on the e-mail sign up form in the top right corner of my side bar.
  2. Answer this question in the comment section below:  What do you like best and what do you like least about my blog?
  3. You must be a resident of the US or Canada.  (I just can’t afford the international postage….I’m sorry!)

I’ll keep the week one giveaway open until 5PM EST on Thursday, January 19th.  I’ll announce the winner AND the week 2 giveaway on Friday, January 20th.

If you’re already a follower, please let me know.  I’d love it if you chose to follow me on the following venues as well:

That’s it!  Thanks again for being a companion on the journey!  I am having the best time.  I never expected to make so many wonderful friends all around the world.  You add so much joy to my life!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy

Quick and Classy Pop Up Gift Card Holders Video Tutorial with Graphic 45 A Christmas Carol

last-minute-gift-ideas-blog-hop-a-christmas-carol-pop-up-gift-card-holder-a-christmas-carol-by-kathy-clement-product-by-graphic-45-photo-1I don’t know about you, but no matter how much planning I do, I always end up with the need for a last minute gift.  And a last minute gift generally means a gift card.  These little pop up gift card holders can be made in about 15-20 minutes using basic supplies that you already have on hand.  In fact, I used scraps from Graphic 45’s A Christmas Carol paper collection.  I made two versions, one more masculine and one more feminine, but both are made the exact same way.

Here’s a peek at the finished Pop-Up Gift Card Holders.

A ribbon closure holds everything shut. Quick and classy and easy peasy to make!

This month, I have a super sweet baby project to share with you.  I used a 7 Gypsies Solo Tray and Graphic 45 papers (Sweet Sentiments/Little Darlings) and some die cuts to create this little altered baby tray for a friend.

Kathy by Design/Little Darlings Altered Baby Tray 02The solo tray measures 6″ square with a 4″ x 6″ opening and 3 2″ square openings.  I dug deep into the Closet of Shame and came up with some fun embellies like the sweet Baby Animal Print Ribbon, White Iridescent Metallic String, Cosmos Daisies and Magnolia Blossoms.  Oh, and I added a few White Spiral Stamens into my flower/ribbon cluster.  I also inked the edges of the flower petals with Chalk ink, and dry brushed some Tattered Rose Distress Paint onto the sides of the tray.

Little Darlings Altered Baby Tray 01This baby’s nursery is done in pink and lilac, so that dictated the color palette. To be true to the Hoarders Pledge (“Keep everything you have, but use everything you keep,”and yes…I just totally made that up!) I pulled out an ancient Spellbinder’s Lace Border Die to use along the top of the tray.

Little Darlings Altered Baby Tray 03I layered the lilac papers from Sweet Sentiments, adding foam tape between layers to add more direction. A large photo of the new family can be mounted here.  .  The sides of the tray were covered in paper and then wrapped with crocheted lace, but I didn’t get a good photo of that, which was very silly of me!

Little Darlings Altered Baby Tray 04The little dress, bloomers, teddy bear and shoes are die cut with dies that I dug out of my crafty stash.  I inked the edges lightly with Tea Dye Distress Ink…and I have to admit…I super love the way these die cuts turned out.

Baby things are so much fun to make and give!  And speaking of giving, I have a little bit of blog candy to give away this month. Blog candyI have a huge stash of 6″ x 6″ papers that I almost never use.  So I thought I would share.  These are assorted collections from Webster’s Pages and they need a new home.  I’ll toss in some other goodies, too…as much as I can fit into the package.

To win, you just need to do one of the following:

  1. Become a follower of my blog if you are not already. You can subscribe by e-mail by using the form in the upper right hand corner of this page.
  2. Like my Facebook page
  3. Favorite my ETSY shop
  4. Follow me on Twitter
  5. Follow me on Instagram
  6. Follow me on Pinterest

You don’t have to do all of the above…but if you do, it will make my day!  I’ll pick a random winner on Monday November 9th and announce it on my Facebook page that day.

Now hop on over and see what KAREN has cooked up for you!

Thanks for hopping by!

Cheerio,

kathy
