Farmhouse Kitchen Flip Folio for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Farmhouse Kitchen Flip Folio for Really Reasonable Ribbon April 2021 Blog Hop

Hello, Friends!  Welcome to a tour of my Farmhouse Kitchen Flip Folio for the Really Reasonable Ribbon April 2021 Blog Hop!  You should be coming here from Ginny’s amazing blog.  I’ve paired the country fresh papers from Echo Park with the Turquoise Satin Ribbon from the April 2021 Ribbon Club Assortment.   Here’s a sneaky peek at the vibrant ribbons in this Bright Floral Assortment.

Down on the Farm

Turquoise Ribbon is used three ways on this 5 1/2″ x 5″ x 1″ flip folio.  It serves as the bow cluster, the closure mechanism, and on the spine.

This little vignette takes me right back to my Grammy’s kitchen!  And look how beautifully the turquoise ribbon plays with the blueberry patterned paper from the collection!

Wrap the spine with a length of Turquoise Satin ribbon.  Then tie a cluster of mini silverware inside a square knot.  Cut the ends and you’ve got a country fresh charm dangle in a jiffy!

Add the ribbon closure to the folio cover before you wrap the spine with the floral patterned paper.  First, attach 1/2″ Scor-Tape around the middle of the folio.  Then adhere the ribbon over the tape.  Leave about a 9″ over hang on each side for ease in tying a bow.

A Quick Peek Inside

Inside this little folio you’ll find hidden pockets, pull out pages, and lots of flips and flaps.
If you’d like to see the rest of the album, I invite you to watch this short video tour with tips and tricks.

These pretty pastel ribbons matched my project perfectly.  Perky Pearl Pink Checkerboard Satin Bows add just the right amount of texture and shine to the folio cover.

Create a border with Lemon Diamond Satin and Mixed Pastel Vertical Striped Grosgrain Ribbon.

Even though this folio is tiny, it is loaded with flips, flaps and surprises.  Pop up elements are always fun to discover!

Spellbinders Amazing Paper Grace Vignette Floral Mason Jar Shaker Card by kathy Clement Photo 01

Spellbinders March 2021 Club Kits Blog Hop:  Bee Happy Mason Jar Shaker Card

Hello, Friends!  Welcome to the Spellbinders March 2021 Club Kits Blog Hop!  You should be coming here from Jennifer’s lovely blog.  I have a serious crafty crush on this month’s Amazing Paper Grace Mini Vignette Floral Mason Jar Die Set.  First, I collect vintage Mason Jars.  Secondly, I adore shaker cards.  And then there are the lovely Cinch and Go flowers that come with this set.  Ooh la la! So the minute I took this lovely little die out of the packaging, I  knew I would be shaking things up in my studio.

Bee Happy Mason Jar Shaker Card

It’s hard not to be happy when you look at this fresh as a daisy card.  Here’s how it came together:

  • First, create a 5″ x 7″ kraft card base with a 1/2″ top fold spine.
  • Next, cut a 4 3/4″ x 4 1/2″ panel of the daisy patterned paper from Carta Bella’s Flower Garden paper collection.
  • Then, layer on a 4 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ panel of pink check paper.
  • Now die cut a doily background using the largest Amazing Paper Grace Picot Petite Circle Die, *Linked in Supply List below.
  • Next, die cut the lacy flourishes using the die from the APG DOM kit.  Adhere these where the two patterned papers meet.
  • Fussy cut some little seed packets and adhere in the top right corner.
  • Now adhere the doily and the mason jar.
  • Next die cut flower layers and leaves, shape, add stamens and adhere.
  • Finally, add a row of daisies, a bee hive button and ribbon to complete the card front.

How to Make a Mini Mason Jar Embellishment

If you’d like to learn how I turned the vignette die into a shaker embellishment I have a little video tutorial you can watch.

Be warned!  Making these little Mason Jar shakers is addictive!  I’ve made several this month.  You can see them HERE and HERE.

A Peek Inside

This is one of my signature “Tea Party in a Box” cards. Gift wrap chocolate, cookies, and a tea bag with scraps of designer paper.  Then tuck in a vintage silver plate spoon and a honey stick to complete the tea party.  Everything fits neatly into the box pocket.  Now you have turned this card into a gift! You can find this card in my ETSY shop.

Now, let’s get this party started!

Lush Lilac Hanging Pocket Card

The cold February weather has me dreaming of springtime.  So I broke out my Lush Lilac collection and welcomed Spring into my studio!   This little creation is part card, part tag, part wall hanging.  I call it a hanging pocket card.  Here’s how it comes together.

  • First, mat a 4 3/4″ x 6 3/4″ panel of Lush Lilac paper on slightly larger panels of green white and lavender cardstock.

  • Next, fussy cut the corner from the tag collage patterned paper.  Follow the natural lines created by the images.
  • Now cut the ledger paper design away from the corner.  Fussy cut around the lilac stem as seen in this photo.
  • Then score 1/2″ flaps on the left hand side and the bottom of the corner to form a pocket.

  • Adhere the ledger behind the pocket as seen in this photo.
  • Now machine stitch the pocket onto the hanging pocket card base.
  • Die cut a decorative tag from the paper collection.  Mat on cardstock. Top with ribbons and tuck into the pocket.
  • Layer a ticket and tag image in the left hand corner of the card front.
Lush Lilac Blooms

  • Now die cut a big pile of lilac blossoms from the paper collection using the Lush Lilac Die.
  • Then run the petals through the Lush Lilac 3-D shaping mold to add texture and dimension to the blossoms.
  • Spray the petals with Lavender Fields Glimmer Mist, or sponge with ink, if desired.
  • Then use a small stylus to create a little well in the center of each blossom
  • Next, fill the centers with Prills and arrange over the designer paper as seen here.
  • Stamp, die cut and shape Leafy Foliage and add to the floral displays.
The Flip Side

Decorate the back side of the hanging pocket card with more designer papers.  Create a box style pocket (tutorial HERE) .

Then use your tags dies to create a sweet little shaker tag to tuck in the pocket.  Create a border along the top edge of the hanging pocket card with ribbon and fancy trim.  Then add a small hanger to the top.  (This hanger is retired Melissa Frances.)

It’s really fun to make a card that doubles as a gift and as home décor!  I definitely had a sunnier outlook on life after playing with all these lovely papers and supplies!

Really Reasonable Ribbon February 2021 Blog Hop

Stamperia Hortensia Framed Card Reneabouquets Beautiful Board by Kathy Clement for Really Reasonable Ribbon

Orchid Floral Fantasy Card for the Really Reasonable Ribbon February 2021 Blog Hop

Hello, Ribbon Lovers!  Welcome to the Really Reasonable Ribbon February 2021 Blog Hop!  You should be coming here from Ginny’s amazing blog.  Today’s Orchid Floral Fantasy Card is brought to you by the February 2021 Ribbon Club Assortment.

How much do we love this Pastel Stash Builder Assortment?  So many colors to choose from!  The Light Orchid Checkerboard Satin and 3/8″ Purple Plaid Ribbons   caught my eye right away. That’s because I’ve been itching to play with these new Stamperia Papers!

Orchid Floral Fantasy Card

Nothing makes me happier than having a perfect ribbon color match for a card!  Here are some tips and tricks I used while making this card.

  • First, create a 5″ x 7″ top fold card base from orchid cardstock.
  • Next, mat a 4 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ panel of floral design paper from Stamperia Hortensia on purple and white cardstock.
  • Now fussy cut the image of the lady from the paper pack.  Back with a double layer of dimensionals to make the image pop off the page.
  • Then cut a post card from the paper collection.  Adhere the image to the postcard and add to the card base.
  • Frame the image with a Reneabouquet’s Lavendar Lilac Heart Frame.
  • Now tie a triple loop bow with Light Orchid Satin Ribbon.  Adhere in the corner of the heart frame.  Top with a loopy iridescent string bow.

Next you just need to scatter flowers and butterflies everywhere.

A little snipped of Purple Plaid ribbon is the perfect finishing touch.

A Peek Inside

Use more Light Orchid Satin Ribbon inside the card as a closure for the flap element.

Tie a little journaling tag on with a bit of Purple Plaid Ribbon.

Now you’ve got room to add photos inside the card, which turns it into a sort of folio.

Fill a pocket with a note card and little treats and your work is done!

On With the Hop

Now hop on over and see what paper pretties Cheryl has in store for you.   Then be sure to finish up over on the Really Reasonable Ribbon Blog so you can answer Bonnie’s question of the month.  Your name will be entered in the drawing to win your very own February Ribbon Club Assortment.

If you’re not a member of the RRR Monthly Ribbon Club, now is a great time to join!  You can find out all about it and sign up HERE.

Enjoy the rest of the hop!
