Really Reasonable Ribbon: You’re in My Thoughts Pocket Card
Hello, Ribbon Lovers! Do you ever run across a color combination that takes you back to a specific place and time? Today’s card did that for me. The colors put me in mind of the soft velvety sunsets I enjoyed up on the hill where I grew up in Vermont. Here’s a first look at my You’re in My Thoughts pocket card.
I can almost hear the crickets chirping and feel the soft summer night on my cheek when I look at this card made with Prima’s “Something Blue” paper collection. And I found the perfect ribbon playmates in luxurious Rust Silky Crush Ribbon and delicate Salmon Pink Seam Binding.
Working with the Silky Crush Ribbon is a joy! This ribbon ties up into the most gorgeous bows! The wrinkles and texture add an extra level of shabby chic to a card like this. I think I’m going to have to get this in every lovely shade that’s available in the RRR Shop.
Happy Accident
Here’s a close up of the bow cluster. I topped it with a gorgeous Petaloo Darjeeling Spice Anemone. Would you like to know how I made these paper curls? It’s was one of those “happy accidents” that we all love so much. I was using my guillotine trimmer to shave off a small slice of my card base and as I was about to toss the shavings into the bin I had one of those, “What if….” moments. So I gently curled the paper against the handle of a small paintbrush, just as you would with curling ribbon and before my very eyes, my “What if” turned into a “Voila!” moment. I simply used my glue gun to add them to the bow cluster.
You’re in My Thoughts: A Look Inside
I had a good time decorating the inside of this card, too. I added a gift card pocket with a couple of sweet surprises for the recipient in the upper half of the card.
And so as not to play favorites, I created a pocket on the bottom of this You’re in My Thoughts card.
It’s filled with sweet surprises, too. The small tag would make a great bookmark, and I think the larger tag would be so pretty on a fridge or a work cubicle. Just personalize the tag, and you’re all set!
I’m always amazed at the power of paper to stir up memory. Does this color combo remind you of anything? If so, I’d love to hear in the comment section below.
